I think some of us are suffering more with flooding than others. Keep them in your thoughts.
Those suffering with flooded basements such as our more lightheaded friends with fantasy world views, in their pajamas, soiled t shirts, purple mohawks, scented candles masking the odor of marihuana, Mothers upstairs making them QuakerOats oatmeal, cockroaches climbing over their uneaten 7-11 burrito.
Terrible.

Hope my RV and pontoon (on the trailer) are up high enough at the Port (Tobacco). I was there yesterday and the high tide was not as bad as I've seen it during some flooding events. I picked up anything that might float away - so we shall see. I'll head back down Saturday evening or Sunday morning and see what's left.

Rt 242/Coltons Point Rd is closed just past Waterloo Rd. I made it through there at 0600 but the barrels were up when LW headed out at 0715.

The most extreme tides are not supposed to affect areas that far north...so hopefully you'll be fine.

Cobb Island and Swan Point are already getting water in - one friend of mine has fish swimming in her yard by her back door in Swann Point. I don't think she slept much overnight. :yikes:

I was reading that sort of thing for understanding just now and it makes sense... the storm is pushing the tide in further than normal.

I guess that would happen before it rains.

I'm a :dork:
You'd be surprised at the number of people who have lived around here for years that don't realize that rain has zero effect on our local water levels. And even more that don't live here. We get the "did you guys get flooded by all that rain?" questions all the time from friends and relatives that don't live around here.

Weird...we've just hit high tide at just shy of 4.4 feet...and its not predicted to drop more than 1 lousy inch between now and about 2 PM where it will start rising again.

And I'm running out of beer. ;-(
