FLU IS RUNNING RAMPANT

Sneakers

Just sneakin' around....
OK, it is my turn.

Friday evening began the sore throat.

Saturday continued with the sore throat, and added on cold chills (but no fever), very little appetite, and a chronic/persistent headache that won't budge. I never got out of bed. I've been sleeping with my electric blanked up to high, popping migrane and sinus pills religiously.

Sunday is a duplicate of yesterday. I did manage to hit up CVS for more sinus meds,, but I've essentially been in bed all day. Ate a little baked potato and that is it.

The bridge of my nose feels like it has been in a vice for the past three days.
Caught it from the little (figuratively..) one? :ohwell: Feel better.

Speaking of college loans ... I've been paying for 17 years on my college loans and they say I still owe $46,000. Say what? The original loan total was $48,000 best I recall. How much interest I am paying?
All of it. Or any amount equal to the amount of the original loan, and then some.

Ahhhh. The joys of usury. Isn't it grand?

Hope you and Boy feel better soon! :huggy:

People in my office were sick from mid-October thru last week. One had COVID, but the other did not test positive (only tested 1 time, though).

I did not get sick, nor even experience symptoms. (Yet, anyway)

Been dealing with it for 2 weeks. It's getting better, but mornings are still rough with coughing and blowing nose.

If one is never tested, one will never have COVID.

The sinus pain was so bad that I went to Patient First for relief and that's when I found out I had Covid. Get better.
Get yourself some hot sauce, Tabasco, hot chili peppers, jalapenos, or the formidable "ghost pepper". And, when after your eat them, it should open right up those sinuses for a brief respite and free breathing, and give you a chance to blow your nose to get rid of the buildup of mucus. After which, have a glass of whole fat milk on hand, or some butter, to quelch the burn/heat after you clear your nose. You could also use a vibrator, (not that kind ; ), but if that is all one has ....), and use it on the bridge and sides of your nose. The high frequency vibrations will loosen up and open the nasal passages helping to induce drainage as well as getting you to sneeze which will help to expel that excess mucus. Oh yes, it will feel extremely funny and weird, and make your eyes water, but it does work.

OMG you use hot sauce and vibrators like that ? The milk is not good when you have excess mucous though. Certainly a "home remedy" I've never heard of. I am sensitive to hot stuff so eating spicy food does open my sinuses but due to how long my sinuses had been congested at that point I had a sinus infection  which needed an antibiotic to cure at that point. I rarely get sinus infections thankfully.

Not testing positive with a home kit but testing positive at an Urgent Care or the Hospital seems to be happening quite a bit. I'm not sure why. I know quite a few people this happened to.

Her hubby used the same brand of test from the same drug store and he was positive after 2 tests. Within a couple days. He might not have done the test as prescise as it should be done.

She just didn't test again. She had the same symptoms, which came on in the textbook time frame after she was exposed.

The home tests are widely accepted in order to go back to work in most places. If someone doesn't follow the directions precisely, though, I can see how that can mess up the results. You have to perform the test exactly the way the instructions state.

It makes me wonder if some of these test kits are just not working properly? I tested 2 times within a few days of being sick and was negative then when I tested positive at Patient First I tested again with a home test and was again negative.

From what I've seen the magic 8 ball is more reliable.

46 grand to ve exact..

I just got my repayment schedule for the next 48 months at 3.5% if I pay $87 for 47 months my loan will be paid off. Of the $1400 remaining to pay off.. That seems a little high to me.

They are not used together, it's either or. And even with an infection, using a hot spice can still allow that infected mucus to be more easily expelled which will help with a speedy recovery. And you just need enough milk to stop the burn if the burn is too much for you. Or you could use a pat of butter, or something else with high fat content.

At the rate I'm going I will die before the student loan is paid off.
Well hopefully they won't force the sale of any of your assets to pay it off once that happens.

I don't think I have any assets they can sell? I don't own a home (house sold in divorce) and my vehicles are 1994, 1994, and 2003. No value there other than the fortune I've spent repairing them over the years.
