Hey Cat Owners

What I don't get..is you can ##### about the cats all day long..but how does one iradicate their property of every living creature? Squirrels are a mess and dig up bulbs, birds #### everywhere, moles and voles ruin yards and flower beds, ants get int he house, japanese beetles destroy everything, racoons get in your garbage, chipmunks chew and block gutters withtheir nests, rabbits #### everywhere, deer eat plants, snakes get in your house, frogs get in your yard and make a racket, and countless other creatures live in and around everyone's house...why pick on a cat? To me..that seems like the least of your worries.

It is wrong to punish the cats..contribute to ending their life..because they were doing what cats do....and further doing no worse damage then any of the other 7878567556 creatures in and around your home. I can understand being annoyed, but logically it makes no sense to be so upset.

Not presently no, but I have had a feral outside cat in the past.

I agree with others who posted about the variety of animal poop you could find in your yard (it isn't just cats). Birds, squirrels, etc. will also walk across your vehicles but you didn't trap them did you? You PICKED the cats to target. Not very neighborly of you, but I do agree that if the cats have owners (not feral) then the owners should try to keep them contained if they are inclined to wander off (and a neighbor has complained).

I know a lady who enclosed her deck and added netting/screen material to give her cats the "outdoor" experience while keeping them contained.

do you let your cats run loose?

let us not try to compare native species with non native species.

non native have the ability to disrupt the habitat of the natives.

When raccoons invaded my attic, I trapped them and had animal control pick them up. (yes I did aquire the proper permit for the trappings)

again, the birds, squirrels, raccoons, deer, snakes etc.. are all native to the area. Cats are not.

No one ever wins that argument about non-native vs. native and wild vs. domesticated vs. feral. You are barking up the wrong tree.

The DNR knows NOT what they speak of all the time .... keep in mind they are the ones that say there are no breeding mountain lion populations in Maryland. I personally have seen 1, and so have others I know.

Those that actually know what they speak of do.

argue the point with the DNR.

Oh that is such crap

BUT, if the cats were strays/ferals, of course you would call animal control or, um, get rid of them in some other fashion. They could have diseases or any number of problems.

BUT II, if you know it's your neighbor's cat, then you know it's probably had it shots and no danger to you, and you're just being a jerk.

I know you can train most dogs but can you train a cat? I don't think you can.

Maybe if you voice your true feelings to your neighbors as you have here, they will keep their baby kitty inside.

I hope you never stumble into their yard in a drunken stupor.

the feelings have been stated to them many times.
worrying about me stumbling around in a drunken stupor only shows that you just dont know me.

and, as far as being a jerk, I pretty much consider someone that decides everyone wants a cat in their yard as being the jerk.

since you asked

I'm a cat owner, I have 8 (all outside except 2, one is deaf and the other his best buddy; a she devil to be sure). I have a small farm and the cats are all rescues. I've only ever met one cat I DO NOT like, at all. He's mean, beats up the girls, and is basically a JERK. That said, I would never hurt him. He's just a PIA and I deal with it. I wish I knew who he belongs to. If I did I would confront them and explain. Maybe your neighbors turn a deaf ear because of the way you approach them....maybe there are other neighbor issues (I'd be willing to bet there are...).

I think you're mean. I bet you hate more than cats.

As far as your pretty ride...GET OVER IT. It's JUST a car. No matter how nice your ride is, people won't like you once they see what a *insert* you seem to be.

You asked for opinions, this is mine.

and we hear from another ass that lets their cats run loose.

worst part of free range cats is getting them out of the tire treads.

Do you stop to consider your actions at all? The poor animal you kill belongs to a family. Think of the poor kid who wants to know why his cat does not sleep on the bed with him anymore. What about the old person, who only has the cat for a companion or the couple who could not have kids and their children are cats. You selfish actions bring alot of pain and hurt to others. Just remember bcp, karma is a #####.
