  • Well, I want to just grab it and tear into it, but since I’m at a party, I’ll use utensils.

Pizza is a casual food and it's acceptable to eat it with your hands. UNLESS it's really sloppy, fall-apart pizza - then you should use a fork.

:missmanners:

Actually I thought so too, but where I went last with a bunch of other folks from work, everyone was using fork and knife, I used my hands.. Generally pizza is something I look to see first, but I was hungry that day

There's even an ettiquitte to eating potato chips  I remember my mother getting really irratated if you don't put your lips around the chip first THEN slowly and softly bite into the chip, I guess I've kind of always been around manners and expect the same from others, maybe that's why I get offended at people eating around me that slurping, tongue smacking/sucking the roof of their mouth while eating, grunting, chewing with mouth open and spitting food while talking... i:barf: ts a huge turn off and I'm offended by that.

I had this girlfriend in high school who ate french fries like this gnawing rodent - tiny quick bites all the way down the fry until the whole thing was consumed. It was really gross.

 Sounds kind of anorexic behavior, minimizing their food intake, small bits, etc... Can be annoying as hell, I'd had to of said something to her about it looking like a gnawing rodent

No, it was more like a buzzsaw - gnawing her way down the fry until it was all in her mouth, rather than just sticking the fry in her face, chewing and swallowing. Completely unattractive.

But wait, there's more...
It's perfectly acceptable to eat a pork chop with your fingers whenever/where ever they're served ... who the hell makes pork chops for a "formal" occasion?

This is wrong.

Who serves pork chops for a formal meal?

I'm trying to think of the last place I ate that even served pork chops that wasn't a redneck-type establishment.

I'm thinking that if I'm out to lunch or dinner with somebody at the Outback or Lonestar who orders pork chops and picks them up off the plate and eats them without a fork and knife that I'm going to look around and hope nobody is looking.

If there are utensils at the event, you should use them!!!!!

Unless its a Hotdog or Hamburger!!

How 'bout a chicken wing or drumstick? Tacos? Fajitas?

I don't know about ya'll, but I like eating my food while it's still hot and with the least hassle. While ya'll are trying to be all fancy shmancy with your pork chops, I'll be over off to the side, enjoying my after-dinner ciggy.

It's also poor manners to leave the table before everyone else is through eating.

Unless they've changed their menus, those places don't serve pork chops, to my knowledge. You're gonna be eatin' someplace red (or at a bbq) to order chops ... and it's perfectly acceptable to in those establishments to eat 'em with your hands. Hell, if I were a bride serving them at my wedding, I'd still use my hands ... less chance of accidentally flicking a piece of sauced chop on my dress.

There are things you eat with your hands, things that need the help of utensils, and things that you should always use them for! Pork chops being on of them!
