It's also poor manners to leave the table before everyone else is through eating.

Fine, I'll light up at the table while you're still eating then.

I'm thinking that if I'm out to lunch or dinner with somebody at the Outback or Lonestar who orders pork chops and picks them up off the plate and eats them without a fork and knife that I'm going to look around and hope nobody is looking.
I'm getting a mental picture of Crabcake picking up her T-bone with her hands and gnawing on it like an I-don't-know-what. :ohwell:

Am I a heathen for taking a hot dog off of the plate, and eating it sans bun, and without a fork or a knife? I just wanted the meat, and didn't have a place to sit.

Miss Manners?

Hell, if I were a bride serving them at my wedding, I'd still use my hands ... less chance of accidentally flicking a piece of sauced chop on my dress.
Why? Your dress is going to be ruined after you wipe your hands on it anyway.

There are things you eat with your hands, things that need the help of utensils, and things that you should always use them for! Pork chops being on of them!

The ONLY way I'd say use utensils for a pork chop were if it were boneless ... otherwise, pork chops are redneck chow, and as such do not warrant the use of utensils. :nono:

I don't suppose you've ever heard of butterflied porkchops? Or stuffed porkchops?

They're boneless ... and I stated earlier that a boneless pork chop would be acceptable to eat with utensils.

:killingme Nah, I've seen her eat steak, she uses a fork and knife. At least I don't feel bad, I have had mental pictures of people snatching up a pork chop with their hands in a public resteraunt and chopping away.

And this other one of people farting in bags of Doritos. :killingme

You have taken heat for this little shenanigan, but I say it's fine in a casual setting, such as a picnic. It's not the most attractive thing you can do, but it's not a sin. A hamburger, on the other hand, should be eaten EITHER on a bun OR with a knife and fork.

We used to get pork chops across the street from my dads shop at a gas station. He would fry them in the back, mash them between two pieces of wonder bread and wrap it in tin foil for a buck.

God I miss Georgia :killingme

If there's food...there is some form of eating utensil...even if it is plasteekware. It really depends on the type of event or social setting. But I still agree w/ CC...I can't think of a place I've seen them served that it was not "acceptable social behavior" to pick em up and eat em.

The question was not...."at a redneck event do you..."

There is a difference!!
