LOLOL Blessing the fleet at white sands, what a phony bunch of shiit.... Vera had them eating peanuts out of her ass,The Blessing of the Fleet hasn't been the same since the early 80s. We used to hang out at Colton Point and party with the squids assigned to the transport vessels. One year one of the POs got so drunk he cussed out his Chief. The Chief didn't report him, but they were no longer allowed to hang out with the local riff raff.

Yeah, regattas or large groups of yachts would pull in and hassle the hell out of her to bless the fleet. She accommodated most local diners laughed their asses off over dinner. This would have been circa 1985ish.
Again..never heard of it. The 7D event on the other hand...attended every one for those years. Family thing too..one of my ancestors arrived on those boats.
