What' I'm Looking At Without Doing Anything Yet

MSRP: $22,315
Price Difference: $1,916 Maybe it was a test driven unit; now with a few miles on it.

Edit: According to them, it's not. 'Never been test driven.' Clock shows 6 miles.

Asking Price: $20,399

I'm betting they won't come off that $20,399. "We've already cut the price; we can't go any lower."

Well.....maybe I'll go to the bank and see if they can figure the 3 T's and cut me a check for the MSRP, so there's at least a little cushion.

Okay, maybe I'm halfway, kinda seriously thinking about it a little bit.
:fixed:

Dealership Financing vs Credit Union

Oops.....forgot to figure in the Credit Union insurance cost......that will push the monthly payment up over $500/month.

Didn't you just buy a vehicle not that long ago?

Sure did.....with the intention/pipe dream of trading in every couple years. What I've got is now four years old, using model year releases as a reference. Now that the '16's are out.....see? Sure you do.

I know that 4 years is not 'a couple years.' Now that it's paid off and I'm not at risk of being upside down, I figured I'd take a look at the latest model year offerings and just see what's out there. The new 2016.....Mazda6 BTW.....is a neat little car; just like I said about what I've got, back in '12. Maybe it's a boys and their toys thing. Maybe it's just me wanting to trade in or outright sell it while it's still worth something. Maybe it's just because it's the beginning of the new model year. I know it's NOT because I've got $ burning a whole in my pocket. It's a new toy want, that's all it is......for now.

*AHEM* There is nothing wrong with trading in vehicles once they get dirty. Speaking of... we just bought a fun convertible.
I'm still happy with my 2003 so it just sounds foreign to me to trade in a vehicle "just because" in my getting-to-be-old age...

And I could never own a convertible... I don't like when wind makes my hair move... I absolutely must keep my drivers side window up even if I open the rest... :jameo:

What is credit union insurance?

Death/Dismemberment type insurance. If they grant you a loan for any considerable amout; like for a car; and something happens to you; they want to make sure your loan is paid. It's a mandatory fee forced upon the borrower.

Oooookay. Never heard of it before and I finance all my stuff through a credit union.

I know, that part I hate. :frown:

We still have the other vehicles for when we don't want a nappy head.
I keep waiting for something to come along that really excites me. My sis knew she found her "must have" when she drove her Dodge Charger (metallic burnt orange with/hemi) she loves the hell out of her car. I've looked around but nothing is grabbing me yet. It'll happen one day.

I plan to keep my burb (still love it too much) and get something else this time... my sis wants me to test drive a Lexus rx 350.

My main problem is going to be that the cost of vehicles have doubled since I last purchased new in 2003. It's pissing me off that what I do seem interested in is around starting prices of 40k and then some... :cussing:

I'm not sure why. If you croak, the bank takes back the vehicle. They auction if off, recover some of it back.

It was one on our list also. Take a look at the Jeep Cherokee, you might be surprised at the level of technology and luxury you can get in one. And they have fixed that whole hack it and take control thing :) Love ours. Spent six hours behind the wheel today and oh so comfy.

Chasey, it's more for the family if they want to be able to keep it if you croak, I think.

Again, calling on my considerable math skills :sarcasm: and with the help of loan calculators, turns out the dealership IS a better deal. I would have to take something like a cashier's check for $1000 + or - for fees and taxes; maybe a bit more, but through the dealership I can finance for 60 months winding up with a payment of $361.00 with a sizable (for me anyway) down payment plus the additional $Grand.

It doesn't take much to figure out who has a better interest rate. I think you've worried yourself into a frenzy over nothing.
