But she didn't choose to die. She trusted that the church teachings were based on a correct interpretation of the Bible which they were not.
how do you know if it is the right interpretation?

how do you know that she isn't either with god now becasue of her choice, or in the holding area for heaven bc of her choice?

what is your religion since you seem to know what the right interpretaion of the bible is?

I'm a Protestant Christian and I don't know what the correct interpretation is. I do know that, still, no one has shown me where the Bible says I’m going to Hell if I accept a blood transfusion. That don’t eat blood quote from earlier doesn’t cut it. So, until someone can demonstrate were the Bible teaches that blood transfusions are bad, the JW church was wrong in misleading this women thus resulting in her death.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Wonder how many people have died because they misinterpreted and believed something they read in Harry Potter?

And there you have it.

All these "It Takes a Village" busybodies need to worry about their own lives and stop trying to control everyone else's.

:lmao: Vrai, just because some of us don't agree with her decision doesn't mean we're trying to conrol her life. We're just expressing our opinions. :smile:

From most every religion the main theme is of gods greatness and the love that christianity is supposed to spread right?. They all have those two themes.

I'm not sure how that overall theme encompasses abandoning your children for their entire life.

Yes she did choose to die. If the doctor says, "you need a blood transfusion or you'll die," and she didn't choose the transfusion, that means she chose to die.

just like your church has shown you that the bible says X about the world. Their church uses the same book to say Z about the world.

if you really want answers to these questions call a JW, i am sure a couple will stop by and tell you all about it, including referenced verses.

Define "fanatic". Do you mean one who actually practices a religion instead of paying it lip-service?

Do you call Islamic suicide bombers fanatics.???? I do.

How about the slime who flew their planes into the WTC. Were they fanatics?
Thgey were.

Do you call the Phelps klan ,who protest funerals of soldiers calling it a protest of gays, fanatics and nuts?? I do.

She made a suicidal decision the same as a suicide bomber, she did it for religion, the same as they do. Only she only took out herself, so ,I guess thats ok, at least in your mind.

Me?? I think she's a nut.

Would I die for my religion? I like to think I would, but I probably wouldnt, but then again my religion doesnt ask me to do anything as stupid as this.

...hers does;

Staff at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital begged her husband Anthony, 24, who is also a Jehovah's Witness, and other relatives to allow the transfusion. But followers believe that blood transfusions are prohibited by the Bible and the family would not sanction the treatment.

Also;

As a Jehovah's Witness, Mrs Gough had signed a form before the birth insisting that she should not be given blood.

She did what you say you'd like to think you'd do. Right?

You know, thats a good point.

There was no such thing as a blood transfusion back then. In fact it wouldn't have been possible (unless they used their earthware tubes and needles). How could the bible adamently prohibit something that didn't exist?
