Psaki Points Out That Inflation Doesn't Matter Since There Are No Goods To Purchase Anyway

WASHINGTON, DC—White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki addressed concerns over rising inflation Friday, noting that the impact of rising prices doesn’t matter because there’s nothing left on store shelves to buy.

“Rising prices would definitely be a problem if there were things like food, clothing, or medicine available for purchase,” Psaki said. “As it stands right now, consumers really aren’t paying higher prices because they're not able to purchase anything. People are reporting they’ve never saved so much money in their lives!”

I had to check and notice it was Babylon Bee.

The double speak is baffling. The economy is poor because of the last President. But we have nothing on the shelves, because it's doing so WELL that people are buying all of it up. There's no inflation - it's baloney - but inflation, that's just a rich people's problem.

There's no problem at the border. The border is closed. The border is a MESS because of the LAST guy.

I mean, DAMN, even my kids can fib better than that.

Psaki Says Inflation Is Being Used As A ‘Political Cudgel’

“One in four Americans, according to a new survey, have experienced some kind of loss of income as a result of higher prices,” noted one reporter. “The president has expressed concern about this. I know that you were working on different fronts… to address this, but, I mean, how urgent is it? And … is there any sort of specific concern that this is going to affect not just political outcomes, but just the overall economy?”

“First, let me say that, you know, a lot of talk about inflation — I’m not saying from you, but in general out there… it’s become a political cudgel and it shouldn’t be,” Psaki responded. “It’s impacting, as you said, millions of Americans, no matter their political party. And that’s certainly of concern to the president.”

“I would note that everyone from the Federal Reserve to Wall Street agree with our assessment that inflation is already expected to … substantially decelerate next year. I know you’re not talking about that, but that’s an important component here.”

Psaki On Rising Energy Costs: Makes ‘Even Stronger Case For Doubling Down’ On Our Energy Agenda

“Look, our view is that the rise in gas prices over the long term makes an even stronger case for doubling down our investment and our focus on clean energy options so that we are not relying on the fluctuations and OPEC and their willingness to put more supply and meet the demand in the market,” Psaki responded. “That’s our view.”

“We feel that — but we also feel that there are a number of actors here, including price gouging, that we have concerns and we’ve seen out there — we feel we’ve seen; we’ve asked the FTC to look into the need for OPEC to release more — that are the larger issues here and that’s why we’ve been focused on those options,” she claimed.

I suppose Jen forgets that the previous administration set us up to be energy independent not too long ago, then her boss was installed as president, and he adopted a scorched earth approach to all things Trump. Don't blame this crap on OPEC. **** OPEC! We are supposed to be a sovereign nation, not dependent on the whims of other nations. FJB and Jen!

I believe it is tantamount to an admission that this is why we are hiving higher gas prices. It all part of the plan.
Soon we will have gas shortages , long lines and people hoarding gas.

We are having high gas prices because the Biden Administration and whoever is running it , WANTS it that way.

The solution is simple. Go back to the Trump plan for energy independence, stop this Covid Bullsht, and we will soon return to normal. But it aint gonna happen folks. We are all victims of a plan to destroy America by the democrat party.

Psaki: We Can’t Comment On Rittenhouse Case, But Biden Opposes ‘Vigilantes’ With ‘Assault Rifles’

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed during Monday’s press conference that she couldn’t speak to the ongoing court case involving Kyle Rittenhouse but then immediately followed that statement by saying that President Joe Biden opposes “vigilantes patrolling our communities with assault weapons.”

“We shouldn’t have opportunists corrupting peaceful protests by rioting and burning down the communities they claim to represent anywhere in the country,” she said. “As you know, closing arguments in this particular case — which I’m not speaking to; I’m just making broad comments about his own view — there’s an ongoing trial. We’re awaiting a verdict. Beyond that, I’m not going to speak to any individuals or this case.”

‘Full Meltdown Mode’

Psaki made the remarks in reference to a report from The Wall Street Journal that stated:

Republicans argue the Democrats’ social-spending bill would aggravate inflation by injecting trillions of dollars into an overheated economy. They say they see these issues as powerful political arguments heading into next year’s midterm elections, when Mr. Biden’s party is at risk of losing legislative power.

In a tweet, Psaki claimed: “Q: Why, when Americans are seeing higher prices, are Republicans united against a bill to lower core costs on prescription drugs, health care, child care, and elder care? A: They’re rooting for inflation.”

Psaki’s remarks immediately fueled backlash online with many noting that Democrats were the ones that were pushing aggressive spending measures that are increasing inflationary pressures.
Notable responses included:
  • Richard Grenell, former Acting Director of National Intelligence: “Your people worked to shut down the entire U.S. economy to win an election and scared people into ignoring science. A double standard is the only standard you have.”
  • Arthur Schwartz, political strategist: “You people want to spend another $3+ trillion. Who’s rooting for inflation?”
  • Ryan Bourne, economist: “The ‘zero cost’ thing was bad enough economics, but this….”
  • Jake Schneider, GOP: “What a crock from a White House in freefall. Biden & Co can’t run from their economic crisis, which meets every American in everything they buy, so they throw lies at the wall and hope one sticks. Meanwhile, Americans pay the price.”
  • Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR): “The White House said inflation is a ‘high-class problem,’ and high gas prices ‘make a stronger case for doubling down our investment.’ This crushing inflation is by design.”

'It's SO DANGEROUS what she said': Press secretary Psaki makes STUNNING claim about 'long-term' rise in gas prices

On "The Rubin Report" Wednesday, Dave Rubin shared a clip of White House press secretary Jen Psaki arguing that high gas prices are actually beneficial because they will force the U.S. to increase our investment in renewable energy "so that we are not relying on the fluctuations and OPEC."

"Look, our view is that the rise in gas prices over the long term makes an even stronger case for doubling down our investment and our focus on clean energy options so that we are not relying on the fluctuations and OPEC and their willingness to put more supply and meet the demands in the market," Psaki said during a recent press briefing.

"It's so dangerous what she said right there," Dave said in response. "What she's saying is, as gas prices rise we're gonna have to do more of all that stuff that they've been trying to push down your throats with 'Build Back Better.'"

Psaki's 'No Economist' Assertion Draws Some Inflation Dissenters

No, Jen Psaki told Peter Alexander this week. And why not? Well, the White House press secretary explained to the NBC News correspondent, “because no economist out there is projecting that this will have a negative impact on inflation.”

Of course, that isn’t true. There are many economists out there and some of them do warn that the Build Back Better plan will further increase the prices that dog consumers and can doom the careers of politicians. But the existence of economists with views contrary to those held by the president’s National Economic Council isn’t entirely the point. At issue more broadly is the fulfillment of something Joe Biden said back in April 2020.

“Milton Friedman,” he said as a candidate, “isn’t running the show anymore.” And nothing could be truer now that Biden is the president.

As the first year of his administration nears completion, inflation has emerged as an unwelcome accompaniment. It has not hit the double-digit levels that propelled Friedman, the late Nobel Prize laureate who warned about the dangers of an unchecked money supply, to prominence in the late 1970s. But consumer prices jumped 6.2%, years over year, in October, the biggest such increase in three decades.

Some things I believe.
The Democrats and China worked together to introduce the Wuhan flu to the world to get rid of Donald trump.
The gas crisis is no crisis at all. We could go back to oil independence tomorrow if the Democrats would allow it.
The shortage and price increases are planned by the democrats to enrich their friends in the "Green" business and force us to buy electric vehicles that we are not prepared to be able to charge . Our electric grid will not stand it.
We are selling out Strategic Oil supplies to cripple our own military.
The democrats are working every day to keep our country divided.

We are watching the deliberate destruction of our economy and our country.

Psaki Says High Gas Prices Are Good Because Americans Will Be Forced To Drive Greener Flintstones Cars

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Press Secretary Jen Psaki has assured Americans that higher gas prices are actually a good thing, because it means we will be forced to switch to greener modes of transportation such as foot-powered Flintstone cars.

But consumer prices jumped 6.2%, years over year, in October, the biggest such increase in three decades.

[CLIP]

The White House has shooed away concerns in recent weeks by pointing to a letter from 17 Nobel laureates who predict that the spending “will ease longer-term inflationary pressures” and to analysis by Moody’s Investor Services that reached the same conclusion.

“They’re all wrong,” said Steven Hanke, a professor of applied economics at Johns Hopkins University. He doesn’t deny that supply chains are backed up or that there may be pent-up demand. But Hanke told RealClearPolitics that those are “ad hoc excuses.” Inflation is being driven by “the money supply which has increased by over 35% since COVID, an unprecedented explosion since World War II.”

Along with John Greenwood, chief economist at the investment management company Invesco in London, Hanke likens the situation to a bathtub with three drains. The first two drains are economic growth and savings. In the absence of inflation, money that flows into the tub easily flows out of the tub through those two drains. “But if more money is flowing in than out,” the two reasoned in a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed, “the level of money rises. It will eventually reach the overflow, which is the inflation drain.”

An alumnus of the Reagan administration and a fervent supply-sider, Hanke notes that between December 2019 and August 2021, the supply of dollars in circulation grew by $5.5 trillion, “a stunning 35.7% increase in only a year-and-a-half, driven primarily by the Federal Reserve’s purchase of Treasury and mortgage-backed securities.”
