I agree, if you absolutely have to have a purebreed that atleast make sure not from a puppymill and the breeder is reputable and also does rescue. My friend used to breed labs but has since stopped after she fostered a batch of puppies that were dumped at the shelter. Now she realizes how many just do not have a home. There are some really cute puppies that are lab mixes at ARF (Well Pet Clinic) that are up for adoption tomorrow. 2 look exactly like pure yellow labs and 1 looks just like a pure black lab. Good luck in your search either way.

They are in Lexington Park near the movie theater. They are next to Underground Tattoo and right behind Family Dollar, Kims Nails, etc. I think the "Pet Adoption Day" is every Saturday from 11am-3pm.

Has anyone else noticed a trend in the breeds at the local rescues and shelters...a few years ago most of the dogs were lab and shepherd mixes. I know there are still alot of them, but now it seems that all I see is pit type mixes. Anyone else noticed the same thing? :shrug:

Found homes for all three but 2 were actually pregnant and one had her pups, there were 8 of them.

The puppies are not listed on their site yet but were all spayed and neutered on Friday and ready for new homes. The little black female looks identical to a pure lab and so does one of the yellow/white girls. They were there on Saturday for adoption and will be again this Saturday. Check them out if you get a chance.
