Nope. Furnace gets a cleaning every year under contract. Fuel that is pumped out of the tank during the cleaning is fine, no contaminants. Filter is changed, old filter shows no signs of contamination. Never had an issue in the 30 years I've been here.
Same here. Tank gets filled every spring when the price drops. Last furnace lasted 37 years till the fire box cracked. This furnace is only one year old and still on warranty.

For your consideration ...

Without those with small dicks, what would you co*ksuc*ers do?

Thank you agreeing with my previous statement. And for affirming, confirming, and fully acknowledging, that you do indeed have a small one. The entire class now knows why you are a disagreeable peevish petulant man child . . . jealousy, envy, bitterness and resentment, that you came up so short that women need secondary stimulation during any of your feeble and non-productive attempts at intercourse.

Damn must have hit a VERY sensitive nerve with that one, sorry toasted I shouldn't have called you out for your latest drivel.

With the price of heating oil being what it is, do you oil fired folk ever considered conversion to a heat pump system or a high efficiency condensing gas burner?

No on both counts. Just don't like heat pumps, not really great for this area. Had a propane furnace once upon a time. Brand new out of the box, had a minor leak in the regulator that couldn't be found. Blew the doors off the furnace every morning. Not going propane again.

The cost of new, high efficiency furnaces can easily outweigh the cost of the fuel for an oil burner.

Not really, heat pumps are hard when you have generator back up, propane is fine outdoors but it is heavier than air and will lay in a low spot in the house if you have a leak, not a fan after seeing a blown-up home. Oil works fine with a generator and generally won't blow up the house.

Just got my Burchoil delivery, and yes, there IS a tax on home fuel deliveries. It's called "St. Mary's Energy Tax" @ .3125%. On a $729.80 delivery, it was $2.28.

Ok, that's a St. Mary's tax apparently, not a state tax. I question the legality of it, by the way. The State is very protective of the sales tax.

Newer generation heat pumps work well in lower temperatures, much improved than previous generations. Below zero in some models.

Ok, what is the watt to British Thermal Unit ratio at 30 degrees, anything under 2 to1 is a joke.

Specifically authorized by law - Md. Local Government Code Ann. § 20-606
It took me awhile to find because this is what I was sent to first:
Was that snuck through? I don't pay a whole lot of attention to St. Mary's but I don't remember this. I shouldn't say this but I noticed Calvert doesn't have it nor does Charles.

I know some jurisdictions have been trying for years to get a separate meals and drink tax like Ocean City has.

Your link took you to the Article for State Government and not Local Government. Try this link https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebs...section=20-606&enactments=True&archived=False

Normally, I use the Lexis-Nexis site for Maryland.

I'm guessing your math is wrong - $2.28/gal?? Sign me up for 1000 gal if that is the case.

I'm fairly sure that's the tax that STM county collects in addition to other taxes on his delivery.
