Maryland lawmakers make gun control a session priority

don't even go there - not hardly, as no one was capable of killing many people in SECONDS with a musket or a flintlock pistol!
Could with a cannon and grape shot though.

But you are hopelessly naive about the background and specific intent of the Second Amendment and you appear to be quite determined to remain that way.

You got a nuke in your backyard?

If the Gov't really cared about you you would be dead tomorrow.

You are irrelevant and will never own the fire power to defend yourself from the government. It's just another excuse to hide behind because you are to selfish to admit you are wrong.
How about those Tallyban guys, eh?? :neener:

BS, many carried multiple weapons and could kill as many as the weapons they had. Others would be the shooter and have reloaders for them to keep up the pace.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

I am happy for people to have access to muskets and flintlock pistols (or the updated equivalent) because it just seems crazy that anyone can get a weapon capable of killing masses of people and it should be harder to get those more advanced weapons. People should NOT have that much firepower available which has ruined the lives of SO MANY FAMILIES as a sacrifice so we can be armed.

Again? Such a virtue signaler, aren't you? You do realize that there is no utopia? No 'safe' place? That the world is, and has forever been, a very dangerous place? Exactly who the hell are you to deny any person the ability to defend themselves, and/or their family and property, from the use of any type of Arms of their choosing?

What has "ruined the lives of SO MANY FAMILIES" are the criminal bad guys who could care less. Not the choice of weapon. Why can't you wrap that around your cranial matter? What of the uncaught serial killers, that over time may have 50 or more murders under his/her belt and that only uses knives or ropes to kill their victims? Or are murders over the span of time by one person "which has ruined the lives of SO MANY FAMILIES" not worthy of the same discourse?

You are living in lala land. A scared little girl hiding under the covers frightened of the boogeyman hoping he doesn't creep into your bedroom at night. When the boogeyman has been walking past you everyday, on the street, in the grocery store, maybe even a customer of yours, and you don't even know it. You may be conformable being defenseless, but others are not. Which of course is your Right, not to exercise your Right. But you have no right to deny the use of another person's Right.

Still waiting for you to tell us which Right/s you are willing to give up yourself. But all we hear are crickets.

The Girandoni air rifle, which was first manufactured in 1779.
It had similar velocity to a black powder muzzle loader and held 20 projectiles in its magazine.

The founders of our Constitutional Republic were well aware that technology advances.

And you don't understand how hard it is to subjugate an armed populace. My ancestors supposedly couldn't stand off the world's most powerful Empire. Yet they did.

You are looking at things from an individual perspective, but that's not how this works.

Recent history should tell her....

Were the Taliban defeated or did a bunch of primitives outlast the worlds finest military?

All of these below are functionally the exact same weapon. That 25 round mag will slot right into the 10 round model, I know because I bought them for mine. In VA, or course, since I cannot buy them in MD only own them :) Mine isnt shown, but it looks just like the top left except it breaks into two pieces for easier carrying.

I am just so distressed every time I hear that someone else has killed many more people. The weapon of choice has become automatic guns not machetes. I think most of us are looking for a solution while others call it "our right to bear arms" and we ALL have to live with sacrifices.

That is entirely untrue, as pointed out to you multiple times already. Automatic firearms are almost never, ever used in the commission of a crime. Any crime. Not since the days of Al Capone anyway.

And no indeed...living free is quite the opposite of sacrificing basic rights for some misguided groupthink.

HERE is where you will find lots of automatic firearms. In the hands of the collectors and enthusiasts that can afford them, being enjoyed by hundreds of folks at a great family-friendly weekend event.

Around the turn of last century a man named Twigg killed a half dozen and wounded scores more with a double barrel shotgun.

It's not the gun.

It's the person.

^There have been 2 instances of a legally owned fully automatic firearm being used to commit a murder since 1934. One of them was a police officer who killed his partner.

So our government is going to drop a nuke on its own citizens? You really think the military is going to pick up arms and fight American citizens? C’mon stop being an idiot for one day, just one day!

Considering how many of those have been indoctrinated in the public school system, there are probably a fair number that would.

We understand your feelings, but we disagree on how to beat mitigate the slaughter. First step is to understand who is killing whom and why. The great majority of these are suicides and criminals killing other criminals or innocent.
