I know and I don't blame anyone for getting what they can from it, I get the feeling i'll take it in the ass when they get around to reforming it, no more mortgage deduction......

Start setting up tax exempt annuities

This is the first time in 36 years that I've been on the receiving end of the tax code.

So why would someone get more than they paid in? ......

a f@cked up tax code

I agree.

I work full time, I pay a mortgage and real estate taxes. The fact that I took advantage of a first time home buyer program in order to get my house - is smart. Who wouldn't? Even though I am a recipient of money I didn't pay into that effed up tax code, I am also a very vocal advocate for The Fair Tax.

I just take advantage of what's out there.

We did daughters about 10days after our, she already got both them back; figure we are in audit or something, there's nothing special about our returns that would cause a delay ...... the refund is less than a $K ...... IT'S MY MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW!!!

So hang on, let me get this straight. You and the other leeches want to be given my money, brag about how you are getting more back than you paid, and then You get offended when one of the folks who has to work to pay your way calls you on it?
Yep, you sound just like one of those entitled "hood rats" as ETC calls them. Keep Rockin the 47% :yay:

:lmao:

Sorry that you are so upset. :huggy: I'm not offended at all that you are an idiot. The "bragging about it" that I did in my first posts happened to be sarcasm, and obviously lost on the obtuse.

Let's recap what I posted earlier: I OWN MY OWN HOME and property. I PAY REAL ESTATE TAXES to the county of Calvert in the State of Maryland.

I am a divorced mother who is taking advantage of options of available to me, that were NOT available to me when I was married (15 years - co-owner of a home & property in FL) nor when I was single (not a homeowner - I rented)

Actually, since I was single until the age of 30, I paid plenty o' taxes back in the day. I also worked 2 jobs from about the age of 22-30. I had a regular job and I was an independent contractor in direct sales for a couple of different companies during that time.

ALL I am doing now is preparing my taxes according to the the tax preparation software and taking advantage of options available to me. Interestingly enough, because I am so healthy,:diva: I do not even have enough deductions to itemize on my tax return, EVEN WITH my mortgage interest deductions & charitable contributions. Do you get to take advantage of those options?

taxes are not like insurance or SSI they are taxes. Everybody pays them and you dont expect that one day you are going to get money handed to you from uncle sugar as a result. You used govenrment services all of those years, probably more than most considering your situation, you paid taxes just like the rest of us. Guess what, the rest of us are still paying taxes to carry you, and not just property and sales tax :bigwhoop:

your last line shows your sense of entitlement. The bottom line is that I pay federal income taxes and after some mumbo jumbo at the IRS some of that is redistributed to you, aps and the rest of the 47%. Its funny to watch two of the people who rallied the most against Obama and his redistribution of wealth brag about taking tax money directly from the fed- you know uncle sugar, chairmain O......

migtig

aka Mrs. Giant
I think every single one of us, who can claim a deduction or get a credit at some point on their taxes (home owners, college loans, kids, medical expenses, home business, donations, etc) has done so. No shame in my game. If I can claim it I will, just like everybody else.

However, that doesn't mean I agree with our tax system. It's all jacked up and it's all wrong. There shouldn't be these credits and deductions and what all. IMHO, if we have to pay these illegal taxes, then there should be a flat tax in order to make the process simpler and fair for everybody.

But as long as this is our tax system and as long as these credits/deductions et al are offered, every single one of us is taking advantage of what we can to get the best tax rate for ourselves and our families in order to not owe and to hopefully get some money back.
