You're kidding right? He thinks tinting windows is more important that having the family car in working order? What about emergencies?
My point exactly. The two older kids have dental appointments on Thursday and the baby missed her weight check (very important with her problems) yesterday and I was hoping to get it done this week. See, he earns the money and I have none. Ever. If I tell him I need money for gas, he gives me $10. If I tell him I need cigarettes, he either buys them or gives me $5. It goes like that. I hate it. We don't have a checking account so he has all the money. I hear sh!t from him all the time about "his money" etc. He says he'll give me money when I ask. Who wants to ask?? I guess everything I do here isn't really work. He got pissed of that there was only a few dollars change from a $50 bill he gave me last night to go to the grocery store, but I got diapers, burger, hot dogs, buns, and oh yeah.....the 30 pack of Coors light he wanted!! Shoot, the beer and diapers alone were $35!

He needs a reality check and so do you :huggy: If any man that I was with put beer over fixing a family vehicle he would find he wouldn't need his own car . I would break his legs and his beer clenching fist.

Yeah I agree, get some respect for yourself, a job and close your legs. Getting respect for yourself should take care of him

I do have respect for myself. I choose to stay at home because I like to get my kids off to school and be here when they get home thank you very much. I also have the baby that has alot of doctors appointments during the day. I have worked at night and have no problem with that but my kids like me being home with them and I like to be there as well. Where do you get off telling me to get a job? I do have a job, it's called motherhood!

Camily-

I totally understand you wanting to be with the children and considering Celie's condition, it is the best choice for now.

What I don't understand is why there is no checking account, why you need to ask for money every day, why there isn't a household budget in place with you having equal access to the funds as you are doing work within the home that is equal to his on the outside. And when something unexpected like this car repair comes up, you sit down as partners and figure out how it can be handled.

You are way too smart to be in this situation. I generally only find these situations in relationships that are unhealthy and sometimes abusive.

I am concerned.

I was not trying to come down on you. You do have the greatest and most rewarding job in the world. What does he need with a thirty pack of beer though when you need things for the kids. IE a working auto with gas in it. :flowers:
