New Businesses Coming to Southern Maryland

Believe they had to divest that site after buying Giant.

Food Lion had to divest the California store where Harbor Freight is now when Giant and Food Lion merged. Weis bought it from Food Lion, and ran it for a year before they closed the store. I would imagine the San Souci store is more attractive than the old California one because it is bigger, more modern, and not 3 miles from Harris Teeter, Aldi, and Giant.

Anyone asked this week what's going in where they bulldozed next to the Arby's?

And putting a Weis in that spot is stupid. Too similar to food lion, not going to be able to convince people to move to their shop. Needs to be a high end store or a specialty grocers.

I forgot to mention that the CVS on First Colony Way in California is closing on March 4th. Looks like things will be moving to the ones in Leonardtown and Hollywood instead.

Weis and Food Lion are high end for SoMD.
You should have seen the heads exploding in Dunkirk when the Harris-Teeter was going to be a Piggly Wiggly a few months ago. That merger was ended but it was fun to watch.
Then a Dollar Tree opened up today, when that was announced a group of Dunkirkites were going to sue the County. That didn't happen. I don't know if they were from Inner Dunkirk or Outer Dunkirk (yes, that's a thing now).

Reminds me of Kathy Lee saying she grew up in West Annapolis, when she actually grew up in Bowie.

Are we talking about Arby's in Charlotte Hall or the one in Leonardtown. The Weiss in Charlotte Hall is going to be a upscale store.
