That was also a young fella in a 4 cyl car that wanted some of me. Ahhhh those were the days weren't they.

Some Acura guy tried racing day a few weeks back. We were coming home from the Tiki Bar and this boy didn't have nothing on the 5-series.

Well thats an obvious mistake on his part.. LOL.. I dont intentionally go out looking for street races.. they just find me.. and of course.. I'll gladly try out anything just to see what I have competition against.. but I know what is in my class and what isn't.. 5 series isn't my idea of a good race

Thats the difference in my tC and the little high school children with the old Civics and Neons.. My car is clean and sexy You wont see any of that mess on my car..

I was lead to believe that the "wing" helps create downforce so that the REAR WHEELS will gain traction at high speeds....
so what is the use for one on a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE

Let me help %99 of all wings on ANY vehicle serve no purpose. And no wing has any use at speeds under 100. But, at high speeds, say above 130, some vehicles, depending on shape (the Audi TT and new Beatle are great examples) the wing shape of curved upper surface and flat bottom can actually generate lift.

This makes the rear tires, which are not needed fro traction, but still needed for turns and stability and such, lose grip. What spoilers and wings do for FWD cars then is either disturb that airflow in the case of spoilers, or generate downforce to overcome the lift in the case of wings, negating it.

This is why Audi TTs, which at first had a smooth shape, had the spoilers added, they got loose at high speeds.

I've been looking for "cruise nights" for a couple years now with next to no luck. There used to be one just around the corner from me at Sams Club in Waldorf but haven't seen it in a while.

I used to go to one with my dad up in the Albany NY area that got 1100 cars regularly. There's nothing like that around here, and I hardly ever see an interesting older car puttering around to ask.

Also have been kinda sorta looking for a 'tuner' group, though I'm not a 'tuner' myself (my fun car is an unmodified yellow Tiburon). Just like to see what people are doing to their cars for better or for worse an get impressed or get a chuckle.


As for wings, my car has one (came with the car) and cosmetically I think it adds a lot to the car. I've seen Tibs with the smaller wing or no wing and they just don't look right. I'm not dumb enough to think it's functional in any way shape or form but it's sporty and I like it.

I don't need to drive one. I don't need to drive one as I doubt I'd be impressed. I don't need to spank one down either. My racing days are over with two car seats in the back seat and knocking on 30 years old. But how about I'll let you take my car against one.

And for the records, yes i own an SXT. Yes i know its not fast. I bought it because its great on gas and has never given me any problems.

I agree with you there.. gas is rediculous.. kinda makes me skeptical about going F/I anytime soon.. I think I've driven in about almost every car known to man.. LOL.. I'd still say the fastest thing I've been in is my Army buddy Laurens fully built rally STi.. I doubt anything is topping it.. even another pal of mines SRT-10 Viper isn't a match for it.

Ive driven a viper on the road and on the track and lemme just say its quick but ive driven faster. F/I is no where in my sights because of gas. i love the 30+ MPG from the neon.

STI's are nice but too expensive for what you get. Look up an Aerial Atom, thats what im looking at now.

They are about 45K- 50K in the USA.

Even though its a little 1.6L the cars is only like 1500LBS. watch the movies. that thing is NUTS!
