Kids on Asher Rd would be going to Dynard Elementary, which is a good school.
I live on Asher Rd. My kids were sent to Mechanicsville Elementary. Now they are in private school.

I'm glad I found this place.

I appreciate everyones help thus far, and I have to tell you that I'm really looking forward to getting back to the good old USA and settling down again with my family. I can't wait to get there. Thanks again for everyones input.

I personally recommend the 7th district area if you like the country. The houses are spaced farther apart and it's quiet and relatively cheaper than, say, Lexington Park. I live in Bushwood and love it!

The schools are okay, but I went to private school. From where I live, Father Andrew White, Holy Angels, and Mother Catherine are all fine drives.

It's great if you don't mind the commute to EVERYWHERE! It's quiet through there, but sometimes too quiet. I would hate having to drive 15 minutes to the store if you need something in a hurry!

However, Murphy's does have some damn good food! I think Wednesday is Lasagna day. :yum:

And that's exactly why I like it -- I hate traffic and overcrowding. If I want to live in the suburbs, I'll move back to Northern Virginia *shudder*.

What happens if your kid has a fever in the middle of the night and you reallize that you are out of Motrin or Tylenol?

I'm actually moving from the 7th pretty soon (I live with my parents). I am looking to rent an apartment or small house. I work by the base, so I'll be looking farther south in the county. I'd love to one day own property in the Bushwood area, but the way housing prices are these days, I'll be lucky to afford a shed. :frown:

Too bad. I just rented out an apartment in the 7th. Affordable and big. :ohwell:
