Housing porices in the area are pretty outrageous but i think I should be able to find something decent in my price range.

Solomons, southern Calvert County, excellent schools, very little crime (stay away from CRE).. Can point you in the direction of a wonderful community on just the other side of the bridge. 3,4 and 5 bedroom townhomes, pool, playgrounds, and tennis courts. My kids have lived there for three years, and not even a HINT of trouble, and have blossomed in the school district.

NO!!!!The house you speak of is being fixed up by owners, renters who tore it up are gone!

That reeally does look like a terrific area, but I'm not sure I want to deal with the bridge traffic everyday. I've heard it can be bad at times. I'm not really looking for a townhome either.

Check out Charlotte Hall, Northern St. Marys go to Realtor.com enter zipcode 20622, check 3,4,5 and 6, nice subdivsions. Kind of smack in the middle of Southern Maryland, 20-25 minutes or less to Leonardtown, Prince Frederick, Pax, LaPlata, and Waldorf. Depending on time of day 25-30 to Beltway.

I lived over there for over two years, and only got stuck twice due to the bridge...

Big difference in Townhomes and houses.. NO yard work, no lawn mowing, and you get much more house for your money. Can still get into a 4 bedroom 3 bath home 1800- 2400 sq ft for less then 300K..

But it's not for everyone.


If you want a nice house, decent price, and no traffic, look south of the base. You live 15 miles north of the base, it could take you 45 minutes to an hour to get to work, live 15 miles South of the base it takes you 15 minutes to get to work. You can spend 20 minutes in the turn lane to get to the gate to get into base in the morning.

Ridge, St Inigoes, Dameron.. amongst others, are good options.. some nice new developments in close to the base.

We have a FSBO on a two acre lot in our neighborhood. Beautiful lot, great neighbors (us) and an abundance of young kids.. and horses, we have WHORSES across the street from us.

Howzat, better??

No offense to anyone here, but I really don't want to live across the street from hores. Horses are okay but my wife my have issues with the hores. :lmao:
