But according to UrbanPancake, the president puts Iraqi soldiers on buses. :shrug:Pete said:2A may I have this one?

The President doesn't appoint congress either.
Also............
He does not create jobs.

Umm, im glad, that means i got that right on my american national governemtn test, he does how ever appoint people to the judicial branch, which does inerprit the laws, as opposed to congress which passes them...Pete said:2A may I have this one?

The President is not the most elloquent speaker. He will probably never win a nobel prize. He probably will never be given the key to Paris on a state visit. He IS uniquely American, he is trustworthy, true, decisive and steadfast. I spent 21 years in the military, the last 2 under his command and would go back if they called for me under his command without question.dustin said:But Pete, didn't you know that Bush is responsible for all of flipflopwafflehead's sorrow? I bet Bush is responsible for his farts too!
Yes he does. He gets to appoint Federal judges and I believe he does it all the way down to the Circuit Courts of Appeals.Spoiled said:Umm, im glad, that means i got that right on my american national governemtn test, he does how ever appoint people to the judicial branch, which does inerprit the laws, as opposed to congress which passes them...
bush does have supporters in the senate, about 50 of them at thatPete said:Yes he does. He gets to appoint Federal judges and I believe he does it all the way down to the Circuit Courts of Appeals.
The main one is Supreme Court Justices. However he cannot wave a magic wand and boom you are a Supreme Court Justice. They must be approved by the Senate.
Clintons party also had power in the senate for a while IIRCKen King said:Currently there are 201 GW Bush appointees sitting on the bench, 352 for Clinton (2 Supreme Court), 137 for GHW Bush (2 Supreme Court), 116 for Reagan (3 Supreme Court), 31 for Carter, 4 for Ford (1 Supreme Court), 5 for Nixon (1 Supreme Court) and 1 for Johnson. There are 31 vacancies left to be filled. So who has had the greatest impact on the character/makeup of the Judicial Branch in the past 40 years? And while the President appoints them they must have the consent of the Senate.
I do believe it takes more than a simple majority to confirm a Supreme Court Justice. First he has to make it past the Judiciary comittee.Spoiled said:bush does have supporters in the senate, about 50 of them at that
Observing the above quote, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar must not have counted on your American National Government test or you must have failed.Spoiled said:Umm, im glad, that means i got that right on my american national governemtn test, he does how ever appoint people to the judicial branch, which does inerprit the laws, as opposed to congress which passes them...
I find this interesting. I was talking to three service men tonight. They all said that they were voting for Bush and that if Kerry did win, they were getting out of the military at the end of this hitch rather than serve under him. That is very telling.Pete said:I spent 21 years in the military, the last 2 under his command and would go back if they called for me under his command without question.
Rhetoric, I hate when military members do that, it makes them sound like petty little kids. I heard the same crap when Clinton was running and none of them did. Who in their right mind is going to get out at 8, 10 or 12 years because a liberal is elected? I could see if the guy was a loose cannon promising to sent troops to all corners of the globe, but Kerry will bring them all back and give them all nice blue berrets to wear before he sends them out again.2ndAmendment said:I find this interesting. These were young guys. Maybe first hicher or second at most except one of them. He said he'd just retire.Pete said:Rhetoric, I hate when military members do that, it makes them sound like petty little kids. I heard the same crap when Clinton was running and none of them did. Hey stool sample, where you been? Tearing down Bush signs? How about you do me a favor? I could not help notice in the drivel you typed above you talked about "faith" and "morality". How about the next time you feel long winded why don't you call Emeril Lugassi from food TV and give him your opinion on the proper way to prepare a 7 course Italian meal. See, you have as much business discussing faith or morals with anyone here as you do Italian cuisine with Emeril.UrbanPancake said:Keep hiding behind the disguise of faith. You let Bush masquerade in morality, you let him package faith in plastic so it can be merchandised to the masses, and then you go to Wal-Mart and buy it half off. Good For YOU. I'm glad faith is something that can be bought at a discount chain. You all bend down to Bush and let him cheapen your faith. As most of you know, a true believer would have exhausted every option available before going to war with Iraq unprovoked. That is what Jesus believed in. Jesus would have avoided war at all costs. He appreciated human life regardless of faith and ethnicity. But of course Bush has mislead the nutcases on this forum and they have bought every word that comes out of his hate filled mouth. Abortion is bad... but killing Iraqi's in the name of terror prevention is good? That is crazy. I'm glad most of you think I'm crazy. The polls are showing Kerry ahead in the battleground states, they're also showing him ahead in the Electoral College. Come Nov 3rd you will be kissing Kerry's, and UP as# cheeks. I will never ever in my whole entire life vote for a Democrat ever again. And it's because of pigs like you. I hope Bush wins big and I hope you eat #### like you deserve.UrbanPancake said:Come Nov 3rd you will be kissing Kerry's, and UP as# cheeks. And you will like it......![]()
