P90X, I love it

I accept the Yoga as just another part of the workout. Even though I learned Karate when I was 21, I'm not fond of it or the Kenpo (kick boxing) but I do them. As with the Yoga, I can't do it all nor can I bend and twist like they do but it does make me break a good sweat and get as much stretching as I can handle.

I've decided to drop the Whey drink but thanks anyway for the shake recipe.
I've found a really good tasting, protein rich chocolate drink from "Bolthouse Farms" that has 30grams of protein in it and it tastes great! I drink it right after my workout and then have lunch.

You dropped the whey because it tastes bad? (Skipping around the messages) If that's the reason, what brand?

I actually liked the Kenpo, probably the most sweating I've done in the program so far. Yoga, it's okay, but I'm not quite as limber as they are (YET).

We've been doing the whey drink, make it in the blender with fruit, tastes like a non alcoholic daiquiri to me (or maybe I've tricked my mind to think it does).

Not sure who makes it but it's the brand that WalMart carries and it tastes very "chalky". If I hear the name I'll know it. I've tried all 4 flavors but they all taste the same to me. I tried a GNC brand last year and it was the same. I've tried them with water and milk also; still chalky. The 30g protein drink from Bolthouse Farms does taste really good to me. Nothing bad in there that I can see, so I'll use that unless I find something better. Always open to new protein shakes though. Vanilla is my fav along with Strawberry.

I can't get past the chalky consistency of them even when I mixed them with fruits or veges, so I looked for a high protein substitute and found the Bolthouse Farms one I mentioned to Warnekutz.

I also thought, as we get older, we'd get more limber but not me. When I was taking Karate (35 years ago), I could kick my legs over my head, high to the side and I could touch my knee to my forehead. Now I'm lucky if I can kick my leg out parallel to the floor. I cannot bend over and touch the floor with my legs straight either. That's why I try to force myself to do the Yoga; maybe I'll limber up again.

The Kenpo is nothing more than what I did in Karate class years ago, but I enjoy it mainly for the workout, not for the punches or the blocks & kicks.

Funny, we put our daughter into Taekwondo and when we did the Kenpo I told my husband it's just like what my daughter does in her class, but the kids make it look so much easier than it is.

Yes they do. My instructor commented on how limber I was at 21 and I didn't think anything of it. Today, I can only wish I was like that again. Oh to be young...

Wasn't Six Star Protein was it? Black and Red labeling?

I've been ordering cases of Isopure Zero Carb (40g)...the shipping box is huge but I actually drink my protein when I'm supposed to.....when I have the mix I find myself making excuses why I don't need to drink it today...lol

Yep! I just realized that it's the same people that make the Creatine powder (which I do like). I mix the Creatine powder with my water and sip it during the workout, then drink the protein drink after it.

You should see what I used to go through in the morning trying to get that drink to go down. I would drink some of it and then stop to breathe and that was it. My throat slammed shut. I used to try to talk myself into another sip but I couldn't.

Get a jug of Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey and a jug of BSN's Syntha-6 protein. One scoop of each - BAM... never a bad drink again.

Wait until day 2, you'll feel that until about day 5.

Into the 3rd week here and still loving it. I actually do abs 2 more times than he says, even though he says not to do it every day, that's one of my favorites, I do abs after Kenpo and on stretch day. It sure does make a difference, especially if you follow the diet, plus we throw in a few days a week that we walk 3 miles.

There are reasons why you shouldn't work the same muscle groups everyday. You need to let them heal to get the results you're looking for.

Yep, that's what my husband tells me. I think I push that one because I feel like that's where I need the most work. I'll stick to the program from now on. Definitely want it to work right.
