Kom is right. Tony has it set up to do abs 3 times a week. What I do is substitute the Core Synergistics once a week (Wednesday) instead of the Ab Ripper X but I still only do abs 3x a week. I just plain cannot do some of the exercises in Ab Ripper X and I feel much tighter after doing the Core Synergistic exercises so I enjoy them more.Wait until day 2, you'll feel that until about day 5.
Into the 3rd week here and still loving it. I actually do abs 2 more times than he says, even though he says not to do it every day, that's one of my favorites, I do abs after Kenpo and on stretch day. It sure does make a difference, especially if you follow the diet, plus we throw in a few days a week that we walk 3 miles.
Wait until you hit the Chest shoulders & tri's (disc 9).Started P90X yesterday evening! Disk one shoulders and arms was as brutal as Tony said in the beginning. Felt it last night and REALLY feeling it now. Yowza!
Not I. I can't make anything from his recipe book taste good so I just use chicken, beef and fish and choke them down with minimal seasoning. I don't have the desire to spend all that time cooking. I just try to have something close to what he suggests. The snacks and non cooked things are easy enough though. I'm an awful cook with anything other than eggs and steaks...Day 1 week 1 in the books. Who's keeping a food journal?

I'm not talking about the recipe book. I'm just keeping track of my daily food intake and what times I eat this time around. To help with your culinary challenges look for this cookbook, "Six Ingredients or Less: Low Carb Cooking". I picked up a copy from Borders last week, and it will help add some variety to your menu and you'll be surprised at the overall content.
I'll have to pick that book up. Not only is it a pain to shop for the right stuff, having to read all the labels, etc. It's downright expensive to eat healthy. Not like you can run in a grab a bunch of Lean Cuisines or Healthy Choice meals, those things are terrible for you.
The back of the nutrition guide says no more than 1 of the lean cuisine type meals per day and it also has choices you can make at fast food restaurants. I'm logging all of my food then punching it in to myfitnesspal.com for calorie and nutrition counts. I punched my stuff in for Monday (minus the workout) and ended up at 1800 calories for the day. The results came back stating that at that pace I'll be 25 lbs lighter in 5 weeks. That is a bit drastic.
I did that for the first few weeks but then I just kept eating those same foods regularly, so there wasn't any further need to keep logging them. I've given up bread and most grains for the duration of the program. This is the first time I've seen that "last 10 pounds" start to vanish, so I'll stick with it since it works.I'm not talking about the recipe book. Gotta watch those labels Kom. I'm Italian so you know it kills me to have to give up pasta! I gave up the protein bars 2 weeks ago. Too much Soy junk in them. I get a world of protein from my food and the one shake I love to drink.772 calories went bye bye this evening, net calories for the day ~~~ 1411! I need to drop my 300 calorie protein bar and I did have pasta roni at dinner. I should have read the label 450 cal for 1.5 cups! Another day in the books.

I did "Back & Biceps" today (week 6) with Core Synergistics (instead of Ab Ripper). Awesome workout! I'm actually enjoying it and can do it all but I swear I am not getting any bigger. Hard as a rock and 8 pounds lighter but no size gain.
Tomorrow is Yoga day. I guess I should do it but I feel like it's a wasted day since I cannot do very much of it...
I've always eaten a lot of protein so that's not a problem to do now. And yes, I am looking for upper body size gain so I use the heaviest weights I can for each exercise. (Personally, I hate a lot of reps so I like heavier weights). Are you looking for size gain? If so, increase the weights and increase your protein to 1g per 1 lb body weight. But we are doing some pretty intense aerobic exercises which may be negating some size gains.
As far as yoga, do your best and forget the rest. Who says that again? As long as you are pushing play any day working out is NOT a wasted day!
Have you tried subbing in Stretch X for yoga or doing a mix of the yoga you can do along with stretch x?

I never thought that the aerobics (Plyo & Kenpo) might be hindering my size gain. Something to think about though. I do burn calories on them both, I know that for sure.
I haven't tried the "Stretch X" dvd yet but I'll look at it. I normally just take Sunday off completely. Many of the Yoga moves involve major twisting and I just cannot do them. I substitute the Core Synergistics (45m) DVD for the Ab Ripper (15m) one once a week, so I guess it wouldn't be harmful to substitute the Stretch one for the Yoga one?? Ya think?
I watched it earlier tonight and it seems like it might be a good substitute.Stretch X is basically the pre workout warmups on steroids. It starts with some yoga, then hits Kenpo, Core Syn and abs. It actually feels pretty good when you are finished with it. I've switched yoga out with stretch x on previous attempts at P90X because I didn't want to commit to 92 mins of yoga. Give it a pre flight this evening and compare it to yoga and decide on switching or mixing it up.
