The accepted, (for this I do not know why) is ones mortgage be around 33% to 40% of ones income. Why? Why not aim for the lowest possible say closer to 20% to $25% of income? Think of the money you can save. Could even put your children in a private school. Just food for thought.

Is there a reason why you would want to spend so much on a house when there are plenty of nice homes in the $250,000-$325,000 range?That is a great idea! Our max that we would like to spend is 410k.. we are open to building as well but that’s harder to see online.. we will have to schedule some time with a builder possibly
These are just a few we are looking at.. I’m not 100 percent sold on any of them to be honest but it is a start! We still have some time to look which is nice and we will rent before we rush in to buy anything we don’t absolutely love.. sorry if it’s too many!!

Those are.......interesting.
This is what folks have been saying about the bridge between Calvert and St. Mary's County. Traffic will be snarled for hours and it happens quite often. It would be 100x worse if most people weren't off for the holiday.

What business is it of yours to question what their price range for a house is? They have reasons for their price range and they asked for references in that range. Just offer the suggestions for that price range - or don't and just move on.

Perhaps the price range mentioned is 20-25% of total household income.
And that last one was really ugly.
Right?! A lot of those houses in Scientists' Cliff are pretty old and lot of them are like cottages.
It would need a lot of renovation.
Hideous on the inside, but the grounds looked nice. And a 44 year old house will need a LOT of reno, especially since it looks like it is stuck in the 70s.
