I thought that was off the market..wonder if they updated it, last time I saw it advertised, some comments said it was in dire need of updating..and I think it was priced lower than what I am seeing now. I plan on buying it Sunday after I hit the powerball
They're not very good at updating those sites. We were interested in a house down here, and when we asked about seeing it, were told it had been off the market for years.

For me, both Cecils Mill and Governors Mill are both okay from a crime perspective, they are both also prime examples of floorplans meant to sell, but not necessarily to live in well. Those huge opening atriums are really just places that are a PITA to keep clean. That island with the chairs facing away from the front door? If someone is actually sitting in one of those chairs, you wont be able to get by them. into the kitchen. Do people really use a formal and separate living room? Silly garden tub, most everything you see is "builder grade" stuff that will not hold up well over time.

I'm north of the plant and south of Prince Frederick. I have an 8 mile commute to the plant. Your first night of nightshift is the hardest for that drive home. There are some in Ops that commute from Baltimore. That is insane. 3 hours everyday is driving and then there's the 12 hour shift. Move as close to the plant as you can. There is plenty in your range in Port Republic and St. Leonard.

do you work at CCNP now??

I know leonardtown is across the bridge but any thoughts?? And did anyone mention Dowell?? If so I’m sorry I missed it
I understand what everyone is saying about having to cross the bridge daily however right now quite a few of the houses we seem to like..online anyway.. are in California, LP, and Leonardtown. We do like a few that I posted on here but just in case we can’t find one in Calvert I need other options. Owings looks nice but I think that commute may be too far for him especially after working over 12 hours. We really want to keep it 30 min or less.
Thanks again

There are some very nice homes in the Dowell area and I think some are waterfront. Dowell/Solomons has a Weis grocery store and CVS.

Leonardtown is farther away than it looks. It's a nice town and the schools are pretty good, but clock that drive time to CCNP.

And we're not kidding you - avoid that bridge in your daily commute if you can. It's a single lane each way and people get in wrecks on it all the time, which jacks up the traffic even more. I'm really hoping that one of the St. Leonard homes is perfect for you and you fall madly in love with it - you'll be a lot happier in the long run.

Leonardtown is about the same distance as Owings, plus you would have to deal with the bridge. It really can't be said enough, avoid the bridge on your daily commute, doesn't matter if rush hour, or going against the traffic, 1 breakdown or accident on the bridge will shut things down for hours sometimes. There are a slew of affordable options south of Prince Frederick which would set up an easy work commute.

Oh, and the bridge will fall into the river one of these days, and once it happens all the DOT officials and engineers will claim that they didn't think it was THAT bad.

I was working at the plant when the bridge was closed for repair. That suked big time. I was at the plant when my second son began to arrive and I barely made it across the river on the ferry to get to my truck and make it to the hospital. No time to change clothing or shower...covered in sweat , oil, dirt and hydraulic fluid anyway made it in time.

Not mentioned but I wouldn't live in Chesapeake Ranch Estates or "The Ranch Club" as it is called. Some nice homes in there but you may have a dump next door and their HOA is suspect. They also have a petty crime issue. I guess it would be alright to rent in there while looking elsewhere to buy.
Not in my area of CRE. There has been a bike propped up against a tree at the end of our Court for two weeks and counting. Clearly visible from a well traveled main road and yet it is still there. There are certain areas of CRE that have issues. Near the front entrance, near the Lake, and lately near Golden West Way. Most areas are pretty quiet and people take care of their houses/yards.
