People believes

For the people who do believe in god here a question for you. If there is a god then why does he make people suffer? Why let a child be born with some issues like a bone not being on the top of his? Letting him live through several surgeries then die during the same surgery he has done before? Why? Why let his parents family and friends suffer? Why let him suffer? On Wednesday I will be going to my friends funeral. I have to watch her bury her 16 month old son! Some great god!

god cares and/or has a plan.

ha durf a durf a durf lolz

what people don't seem to get is that a plan involving outright suffering is a bad plan.

Let me ask you something… is your purpose here to try and prove God doesn’t exist? Are you trying to make believers into non-believers? If not, why do you waste your time trying to convince people that are otherwise convinced of the existence of God?

I think he or she has a valid point... and you just dismissed his/hers. Just as you try to find believers that are waviaring he/she asked simple questions about "god" I gota go with the logical cause if I could not read then I would be at mans mercy to iterrupt the bibble. OHwait I am still at man's mercy for that.

Religion is all about judgment. I have an old friend who is a fundie Christian. I said to him one time, "But Jesus said you're not supposed to judge. Judge not, lest ye be judged..." He replied, "No, in fact you are supposed to judge..."

"Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, abusers and swindlers--none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God."
1 Corinthians 6:9-10

"Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment."
John 7:24

"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit."
Matthew 12:33

"I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them"
Romans 16:17

"Expel the wicked man from among you."
1 Corinthians 5:12

There are more, but you get the gist.

It makes sense!! You have to judge to some extent in order to keep your own life in balance. "Should I associate with these people or not". Some people are just not good for you. They can take you down a path that you shouldn't be traveling.

I completely agree with your feelings. I've felt the same way. I am a believer and I don't understand why except it's life. Life holds no guarantee. I try not to question too much because it can become very mind boggling. If there isn't a God, we will all know in time. If there is a God, we will all know in time. It's all about faith.

I read something you wrote about "Going into the dirt". I agree, your body will go, but you do have a spirit, a soul, and it does exist. Everyone has a soul and it goes somewhere besides the dirt. The question is "Does it just float around aimlessly or does it actually have a resting place, namely Heaven?"

Maybe to make us learn a thing or two. Maybe to appreciate life a little more.

Obviously we're not learning or appreciating much, whether there's a God or not.

Pascals Wager. I don't know how many times this nonsense has been deconstructed for the farce it is, but here goes:

What if you find out god doesn't like self-serving believers who only believed because they were betting so they wouldn't go to hell?

What if god is a liar and he sends you there anyway?

What if you've chosen to believe in the wrong god and now he's sincerely pissed at you?

How about this: I don't believe because I am honest about there being no evidence or compelling reason to believe. This is a simple, honest, and totally altruistic decision, with no malice or appeal for a "safety net". It is probably courageous -- honesty usually is.

If I die and there's nothing, as I suspect there is, then no harm no foul.

If I die and there's a righteous god, I won't need any pleas because a righteous god would know my inner thoughts and no explanation would be necessary.

If, however, this god who would allow his own children to suffer in torment forver over belief or lack of belief is truly the being in charge - then you and I are screwed anyway. Such a cruel monster is not worthy of belief, not worthy of worship, and is just as liable to send me to Hell being the sadistic monster he is in any event.
These have all been answered before and, obviously, you don't accept the answer but I'll just address the last one:
As a parent, if your kid commits a crime worthy of death but you intervene to provide him or her with a way out of the death sentence, would that make you a "cruel...sadistic monster...not worthy of belief...?
I always detest how blind you people have MADE YOURSELVES to be. God offers you salvation and protection out of love and you still call it hatred. Your punishment is deserved.

Simple. I didn't commit any crime worthy of death.

Let me answer you with this example:
Let's say you & I are longtime friends and I love your 18 year old child a lot and I try to help you out because you don't have a lot of money and are working hard to make ends meet. I buy your kid a nice new car and pay the insurance for him. The kid gives me a hug and thanks me for weeks on end and I'm so glad that I could help you out. The next week you child gets crazy and drives 80mph into a tree and dies. IS IT MY FAULT for buying the car or is it his for living wrong?
There's your answer. God puts everyone on this earth and gives them free will to make choices. He doesn't make everyone rich, good looking, smart or healthy. Some Moms aren't able to bear kids properly so some kids are born handicapped. As with the car scenario, is it God's fault? NO! So stop blaming Him. If He made everyone the same, we wouldn't all be necessary. He allows these things to happen but he does NOT "make them suffer". Bad things happen to good people and vice versa. That's called life and I KNOW you wouldn't want God coming down on you everytime you take a step. Many Mom's have chosen to drink, do drugs or eat very poorly and yet they wonder why their kids are born with problems. Some bear healthy kids but then they fail to raise them properly and they turn out to be criminals or failures in life. Still blaming God here? God gives us everythig we need to live a good life here and also provided a way to get to Heaven. If we don't make it, it isn't His fault. You have NO clue about God and yet speak as if you know it all. You need to learn more and speak less until you know what & whom you are talking about.:duel:

I get where you're going, but will simply state that any god who lets some of the things happen that do happen doesn't deserve my worship.

I'd like to know his thought process behind some of his more bizzare creations.

That sounds better than, your baby was born to criminal parents not living to God's accord.

You make great assumptions and fail to realize why none listen to you.

Ah but you did. The sin (crime) of unbelief. God will forgive anything but that. While you're alive you can renounce it and believe but, if you persist in unbelief until you die, then it will not be forgiven.

lol at god .... I can see him sitting up on cloud 333 or wherever. "hoo hummm that guy killed 5 people but he believes in me and renounced his ways .... guess he's in"

"this guy here lived a pretty good life and OH MY ME! HE DOESN'T BELIEVE! TO HELL (I made a joke) WITH HIM!"

way to set your priorities straight there god.

As I said before, you are looking at things from the wrong perspective (glass half full or half empty). If God were to stay on your case all the time, you would not like it. You'd feel trapped and without freedom. If He made everyone perfect all the time we wouldn't be happy. He made Adam & Eve perfect and yet, by their free will choice, they still sinned. So what did God do wrong? Nothing, it was we who did wrong.
