did I mention that the owner thought it was funny that his dog hated all cats and would kill them but friendly otherwise.

I just think its sad. BD had to witness her cat's helpless demise and then she returned the favor on her neighbor. As she stated she wanted "him to pay." It was the girl dog who paid though. As Vria pointed out - I dont think they cared for it much. I think the dog was soo accustomed to coming over, she didn't know she wasn't allowed over there and obviously jumped right in their vehicle for a ride. Beyond sad, I'm having a hard time coming up with the right words for this. :ohwell: I feel sorry for the cat and the poor dog.

That was fun, but let's get real for a minute:

Some teenage kid keeps coming in your yard. One day, this teenager kills your roommate or whoever. And now you're going to...what? Still sit there while the teenager comes into your yard whenever he pleases?

Because THAT scenario is comparative to what happened with the dog. Bailey wasn't guessing that the dog would kill her cat - the dog had already demonstrated that it would kill cats.

She wanted the dog dead even thought AC didnt think their was cause to do that. She took matters into her own hands. I dont think that is right.

I dont agree w/ the dog owner. But I surely dont agree w/ stealing someones dog and killing it.

AC is there for a reason.

Yes, it was the poor dog who payed the price of its owner and for that I am so sorry, but Im not sorry for my new kitty Barney living to a nice old age of 13. And bailey was thrilled to have a new best friend.

ONE MORE TIME...things were different then, laws were different. AC knew the situation and back then a dog killing a cat wanst nessecarily reason for death. Ac picked this dog up several times.

You are so wrong. I DID NOT WANT the dog dead. I wanted his ####### owner dead. Or to at least restrain his dog

I would KILL for my kids.... Not over my pets...

What if next time your kids were with the dog when this happened? Would you kill the dog then? You know the dog has attacked your dog twice, would you hesitate KNOWING it was ONLY going to attack your dog, or would you worry your kids were next on the food chain?

That's not a chance I'm willing to take. Sorry.

Im sorry to say it was premeditated. It was several months ongoing. First the doog kept coming around and Id call the pound and the next day it was back. finally after a couple months, we said next time it comes here, its dead. But the next time she showed up, she was pregnant. No way was I going to do that. So I waited, she had her pups, kept coming in my yard. I waited till I was sure the pups were good and weaned (and yes I gave it plenty of time, extra time) and the next time she came back we took her out.

Oh from this post it sure did sound like you wanted it dead

And I would do it the Legal way and not take an animal in my CAR to kill it on my own.. I would be taking it to the pound.. I dont care how many times I have to drive that animal, I will not kill it over it killing other animals.. Now if it KILLED my kids OF COURSE things would be different.. Animals are pets, humans are not....

I give up trying to explain. What the hell would you do if it kept coming back month after month and this guy did nothing!

I would not load it in my car and murder it at my friends house.

When you originally posted you did this your reasoning was you were THINKING about getting another cat and were pretty sure if you did it too would be attacked by the pit bull.

I do not agree w/ what you did. Sorry

I just have visions of her wearing black and in the bushes with binoculars religiously watching the dog. Then see her yelling "DRATS!!! Foiled!!!!! :cussing: The biatch is pregnant :cussing:" A month or two later... her hair is a little longer and disarrayed, her clothes are dirty and tattered and again ... "Drats Foiled again!!! I see pups weaning!!!" :cussing: and then finally the day comes when winter has turned to spring and its execution day, all criteria is met. Then she says she didn't want to kill the dog.

I follow you BD!!

It is like a wolf keeps coming in and killing your chickens, or sheep....what ya gonna do?
Stand out there with a gun to kill it AFTER it kills more of your property?
NO...You kill it first..to protect your property and you animals...
Dont see anything wrong with that....

Hang in there!!!!

By some of the reasoning in here, I have every right to kill my neighbor's Chihuahua that runs lose and comes and terrorizes my poor innocent 160+ lb dog in his own yard. :eyeroll:

Anyhow, SoMdGrl, so sorry you are going through this. :huggy: Hopefully AC will keep the dog longer than 10 days.

I normally try to avoid jumping into a thread without reading it to the end first, but didn't baileydog say that the dog she had to kill had already killed one of her pets, on her property? She didn't say "I'll kill any dog that steps foot in my yard", she took out a dog that was already a proven threat.

That dog's owner should have taken the first dead cat as a sign that his dog should be leashed or penned, but instead it was back on Bailey's property again.

I did have another cat at home at the time and yes I was going to get another after boomer got killed. Sorry if I said I was "thinking" of getting another cat, I definatly was. I knew for a FACT that this dog would kill again. And I have no idea why she kept coming to my home unless she sensed blood from her previos kill.
