And that my dear, is why I just got off the phone with the county attorney! :huggy:

The ball is rolling............

Good for you! If you keep on it and don't back down, maybe she'll finally figure out that controlling her animal is a whole lot less painful than fighting court battles. :yay:

I'm sorry about what happened to your dog. But why are you posting all this information online? You don't think this person you're suing can print out this entire thread and use this against you in court? I'd delete this thread.

What is she going to say? "My dog attacked her dog and she wrote about it on the internets!" :cds:

How do others in your neighborhood feel about this dog and owner. Have all of them also call animal control expressing concern about this dog returning. Their isn't time to get signatures and submit to animal control, but if others would call it would put a little bit of heat on them to finally get it right this time. No one should feel unsafe in their own yards or neighborhoods. Get your neighbors to step up to better your community. Show them pictures and describe the attack in great detail, bring up past events. Animal control may not take much notice to one voice, but they can't ignore an angry concerned group of people. The system seems to be broken so maybe it is time to fix it one neighborhood at a time. I think there are enough people in here (leave your guns at home) to help canvas your neighborhood and get the calls rolling into Animal Control that they will have to do what is right this time. Still take the owner to court and get all you can and hold them accountable because ultimately they are to blame and may make them think long and hard about owning another dog.

It was on HER property, I wouldn't care if the cat was killed by a dog on anyone elses property, but it was her cat on her property. I don't care if the cat had potential to roam freely, fact of this particular case is that it was not roaming free.

In my opinion free roaming cats are feral and should be shot if they are on other peoples property, for dogs I have a little more leeway with, as long as they are not reoccuring problem. Problem dogs that roam freely should be shot and killed also. I am not talking about a dog that gets away from it's owner once in a blue moon either.

My only point was with a known threat why put something that means the world to you in harms way. I agree that something must be done with problem dogs, but it must be done through the owner and proper channels. not in the way some have described and continue to brag about and then say they ask for forgivness. Her problem not mine, This should be about SoMDgirl and what she is going through and nothing more.

Aren't you all being just a TAD unfair to AC on this? Believe it or not your county has rules/ordinances about how dangerous animals are to be handled, and those folks in AC aren't heartless fools who enjoy seeing animals hurt. But at the same time, people who are animals owners have rights, and they (AC) can't just decide willie-nillie to take your animal. There is a process they are forced to follow, even if it doesn't seem right, or it isn't perceived as right... it is what it is. You're elected officials set up that process. If the process isn't right you need to lobby for a change, but don't blame the caring folks who take on a hard, mostly thankless job for doing their jobs.

That is not what I am saying at all. Animal control does a lot with the budget they get and it is not what it should be. Unfortunately as population grows in this county animals are never considered in this plan. I never meant to put animal control down, but how else can we help get a bigger budget for animal control than to hammer this issue home. My hats are off to you if you work for AC . If so your frustrations are our frustrations. We need to come together and fix this with our elected officials. And please don't make it out that you even care about this unless you work for AC and can't take the heat

Well it seems Ac is in the house and know what has been said. They seem to be afraid of what I proposed. Lets roll with the neighborhood and get the word out and see where it takes you. Get people to call and overload the system and just maybe they will have to wake up. Sounds like they are getting touchy so far.

I'm sorry you didn't take the time to read the entire thread. My neighborhood has been notified and AC has received NUMEROUS calls from my concerned neighbors.

If this dog does get PTS do you think it will make you feel much better?? I thought in my case that it would, I actually would have given the dogs the needle myself in the beginning. When their time came and they did get PTS, I didn't feel better at all. I realized the responsible and fault was all on the owner, who didn't give a shiat in the end. Just a thought! I hope this all works out in your favor.
