While I do like big dogs, I also like little dogs.. I have a papillon. He is just right for me and my family.

I notice most ppl here like the big dogs... I wanted to be different..

And if you have a temperamental dog, regardless of the breed, you shouldn't have that dog around children.

Would you have your cats gassed if they scratched an eye with their razor sharp claws?

I would put my dog down if he were to ever run up and attack someone unprovoked. In every case with him, people have been told not to go near him, and they do, and it's not like it's any surprise, he'll growl and give you the "get away from me look" for a long time, but if one persists, (or does like Dustin and sits on him  ), he'll bite. Actually, I'm not sure if he ever bit Dustin, but he did make a fuss when he sat on him. :lmao:

Awwwww Aunt Yetty...see there can be a dangerous dog of ANY breed
It wasn't the dog that got her, it was the screen door as she was trying to get away!!

And yes, we feel bad about it..

And he LOVES her, imagine if he didn't like her.

Why if you had an in home daycare would you have this type of dog around children and in turn as a parent why would you leave your child in a home that has a pit bull?

We had a daycare provider and she lived on a farm and her parents lived in the house about a mile away. The parents had a pit bull. I rolled up to pick my daughter up one day and there was that pit bull out in the yard w/ the kids. The dog showed me its teeth when I came near the kids, one of which was my daughter.

Needless to say, that was my last day! While she assured me the dog only comes to visit occasionally from her parents house and that he loved the kids, all I could think of was the dog LOVED the kids it was used to. My daughter being the new kid, could be playing in the yard w/ the others that the dog is used to and the dog could mistake it for hurting them and which child do you think its going to go for?

We were outta there!

You do not get near ANY dog when it is eating. I do not care what dog or who's. I got my azz chewed up by a dog when I was little, pinned down and bitten. It was my fault PERIOD

Uh yeah, little kids are supposed to know how a dog behaves when it is eating. I believe it is the adults responsiblity to have the kid stay away.

I was mauled by a dog at about 10. The dog was half shepard, half something else. I was around this dog who was owned by a little friend of ours almost everyday. We ran and played around him. He was on a chain outside. We ran past him this one day, he lunged out and grabbled me. I hung from his mouth like a rag doll as he clenched his teeth around my throat! My cousin ran in and told the owner who had to beat the dog w/ a 2x4 to try and make it let go. The dog clamped tighter. Eventually it let go. I had a white shirt one which was now red with blood. Thankfully I only ended w/ 4 stitches in the top of my shoulder (the bone was showing) but I had scabs and bites all around my neck and throat and up and down by torso. It was the scariest experience I have ever been through!

I'd just like everyone to know that I'm not afriad of much, I run after not from paranormal activity. However, even though I've never been attacked, I am very much so afriad of big vicious dogs that might bite me in the ass.:yikes:

Hey! What about me? I agree with you guys too.
I have never had a dog that bit. My neighbors growing up had a daschun (weiner dog) that was just downright evil if it didn't know you. But, they knew it, and always, ALWAYS put it in another room when you came in, and then the first few times you were there, they'd put it on a leash before letting it come into the room with you to be introduced. If it had been mine, it woulda been :dead:. I don't care what breed a dog is, it has a 50/50 chance of being nice/evil. That being said, I would trust a large dog around little kids before I would trust a small dog around them, but NEITHER would be trusted until they had earned it.

Ive been glancing through some of these posts, and noticed alot of people talking ab out how you cannot mess with a dogs food when they are eating... no matter what kind of dog, or yaddi yaddi yaddi... I have a 150-160 lb Rotti, and he can be in the middle of scarfing down his food, and I can walk right up, and grab his bowl from him... he will stare at me, and then sit, and wait till I put his bowl back down, he has NEVER ONCE growled, or tried to stop me... I can do the same with his water bowl....

My Rotti's main playmate is a 95lb PIT BULL.... they have had 1 problem in the year and some they have been playing together, it lasted about 30 seconds, we broke them up for about 5 minutes, then let them go, and they have played NICELY before and after that incident... their 1 issue, was over some tail  My dog wanted to hump, but so did his Pit...

Now, my buddy who has the Pit, his fiance who has a friggin Chiwawa (spelling) that thinks its a 200lb killer... that dog will bite ANYONE who comes to close to his fiance.....My neighbor, who has met my dog, and I told them they dont have to worry about him, he wont bite in all, told me I had to watch their 15lb BEAGLE, because it likes to bite....My mom has a 30lb American Eskimo, she did daycare for about 6-7 years after getting her, she NEVER messed with ANY of the kids, but she had to be put away when the parents came to pick them up, because she got used to the kids being in the house, with her and my mom (and my family), and didnt like people coming and picking their kids up.... But not ONCE did she EVER bite anyone....

I just think its unfair (and it PI$$ES ME OFF) how SO MANY people will judge an ENTIRE breed of certain dogs because of a few careless owners....its BULLSH*T....

I love to watch the animal channel. There is a animal cop show and they show how they get analyze for their behavior... They will mark him as aggressive if the dog does snap at a person while the dog is eating.. They consider that as a no no. A person should be able to reach into a dogs food bowl. I think many ppl are not aware of what constitute as aggressive behavior. They should go to an animal shelter and look in on how they evaluate the dogs.
