Produce auction

A produce auction sells in bulk. You bid on large quantities of produce. It' s not a farmer's market where you can buy 4 tomatoes 3 cucumbers and 2 green peppers. You purchase by the bushel.

Oh... well then I would make the Sunday Gravy and freeze it. :bann:

I wish I still had my pressure cooker - guess I'll have to read-up on canning to refresh my memory - been 20+ years since I did it last.

I bought my sister a new Mirro 16 quart from vintage values last year for $20.00. Exact same one as mine, just 4 decades newer.

ahhh so I need to check the thrift stores. I'm on it. I will pass 2 on my way home from work today. From what I read online just now, it would be easier if I buy a canning-type of cooker that has specific settings for canning? Or is the old fashioned pressure cooker easy enough? I was a teenager the last time I canned ....

They have two different auctions one for smaller lots like a quart or two, a flat or a pint, and at the other end of the building is the larger lot auctions, bushels etc.

Depending upon what you are looking for there is a wide variety some items that I have never seen before like heirloom varieties.

I haven't been this year though.
