A produce auction sells in bulk. You bid on large quantities of produce. It' s not a farmer's market where you can buy 4 tomatoes 3 cucumbers and 2 green peppers. You purchase by the bushel.
They have two different auctions one for smaller lots like a quart or two, a flat or a pint, and at the other end of the building is the larger lot auctions, bushels etc.
Depending upon what you are looking for there is a wide variety some items that I have never seen before like heirloom varieties.
I haven't been this year though.
