yes he was wearing a helmet.

APS this happened right around the corner from your work..we were there today looking...marks in the road really show alot and tell a story..We really feel that fender went on him..

PLEASE wear your helmets and please wear the best safety gear you can afford.
You can be a good rider but all it takes is a $0.10 part to fail.

... and while a plastic salad bowl with a couple of straps might satisfy the laws of maryland, it doesn't satisfy the laws of physics.

YES aps is correct....he had on a $20 brain bucket hat (as per the hosp staff at Balt shock trauma) his good hat with lots of padding and full face still hangs here in the living room...please wear a good helmet no matter how hot it is...

Hopefully there's some good news today. Keeping my fingers crossed for Paso and her family.

They sent me home to think about a feeding tube directly to the stomach (he has an intranasal and they said he will aspirate as he has no swallow reflex) and they are wanting to move his vent to a trake..(track) he can not breath on his own yet... uggg...so they are talking long term..they said this is a marathon not a race.. :frown:

I know this must be frustrating (and of course heartbreaking) because I'm sure you want answers now and it's too early for the doctors to tell what to expect in the future. Hang in there, Paso. We're all praying for his recovery.

Paso, don't be afraid of the trache. It is a lot better than being intubated, and afterwards there will only be a small scar.
