Wharf stopped by this evening and Baxter went to his new digs today. Big beautiful home with a lot of land to run on.
Great pictures, Loper!

Loper - Awesome pictures, I need to get you to my place to get all the rest that need new pictures! You and your "backup squeaker guy" are awesome getting the dogs to pay attention!
Okay - puppy - Maggie (named after one of our "young" volunteers)
Remy - has great leash manners when we aren't in public in public when he decides he wants to go somewhere, well, without the prong on, you better hope you have on roller skates. I'm sure with more practice he would get better. His owner never walked him except to go to the vets office and I live in the country so he doesn't get alot of practice. DeeDee, Patches and Maggie are what I call Remy's crew, the 4 of them monkey around here together all the time.
Capone did get adopted today to a family with 3 kids, there were two families from the Eastern Shore to see him.
Brownee got a great ap
Benjamin got a great ap
Buddy got a great ap
Tootsie has a wonderful lady looking at her and is going to talk to her husband
Parker has a lady very interested in him but first we have to schedule another visit to make sure her allergies are okay with him
Baxter great ap
I have to admit that we have some awesome dogs in foster care and our foster homes give them so much love and attention to try to get them ready for their forever homes! If you see one you want to meet please contact Mary at mary@secondhoperescue.org or an application.
We will be back at Peppers this coming Sunday the 22nd as well, from 12-3
YES - the more foster homes we have we can find the types and size of dogs that will fit into your home, this helps us save MORE dogs, so please if you are interested in fostering, PLEASE contact Mary.
If you want to volunteer to help at events like the one's at Peppers we always need dog handlers as well, that helps all the dogs get seen and not have to stay in a crate waiting for their turn in the spotlight. Again, we will pair the type of dog to the right handler.
You should have introduced yourself, a number of us have "forum" names!
Softball..... If you hadn't decided to add to your family you wouldn't be missing us.... I can't wait to get you back into the action!
Time for me to go to bed, been a looong day!
Didn't work out dangit... So it looks like Baxter is still looking for his forever home....
He's a sweetie...

Baxter wore out his welcome in a matter of hours. Once I left he became destructive. When I came back he calmed right down. The nice mother inlaw
asked if I wanted to move in so Baxter could stay. The place was so nice I almost wanted to ask where my room would be. His separation issues now include a major attachment to me.
Anyway, our angel of a neighbor (who's been fostering him) had some bad news this morning. The bike accident in PF was her son. He's going to be OK but has a long road to recovery so Baxter's back with us for now.
Kat, he'll get a true test in Alcatraz tomorrow. He was in there for about 3 hours today and it held. Tomorrow will be more like 7. I'll let you know.

What did he tear up? I would think the people would have been home? Could they not correct him? I'm confused! Does he need a home with other dogs? What does he do?
We were only having issues when he was left alone (from people) which they were aware of. When I left him yesterday he started digging at their door frame (ripped some trim off), shredded a cusion from the couch, escaped through the door, howled, cried and basically became out of control. The lady wasn't ready to handle that and was maybe a little hesitent to try correcting him out of fear. He calmed down a little when the husband came home but he's gone all day long during the week.
When I came back he became very docile and clung to me. Brought him back here and had no issues.
I was wondering if it was her son when you mentioned "neighbor" in that thread. Please pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery. She was (is) a very nice person.
Her son went into surgery this morning. He should be OK in time but he did break his pelvis along with some other bones.
I'll pass it on.
I hope her son is alright. She is very sweet to have taken Baxter in.
Wharf, he does look at you with adoring eyes...I had hoped this would work out.
We are looking into heavy crates...seems the ones I wanted to carry from Midwest are no longer available...darn it! I wish they'd let me know in advance so I could buy a few!
I love my cammo bag! Thanks. It is so "Southern Maryland" to carry a cammo bag on the bus into DC.

Hmm, the pix looks so nice of him but then again I have never seen him in person to notice any weight change.
