Setting your kids up on a date is just so wrong. Sorry.

It will run it's course. 3 hours away will help it along till the finish.

The setting him up on a date was kind a half hearted joke (kind of). But where is the pay off for us parents? I mean sh*t, I pay for his college, his car insurance hell everything and this little brat is going to tell me what he is going to do. And the car is in my name too!

And bottom line is, even at 18, their mistakes are still ours because none of us as parents are going to stand back and let them ruin their lives. We may let them dangle a little bit before we try to save them though.

Agree that sinwagon does not need to enable the relationship by allowing the girl to stay in her home. I would tell my child that I am uncomfortable with that situation - even if they are sleeping separately, because the opportunity is there. If they're doing the deed it wouldn't be under my roof.

On another note... prepare yourself... if you think this exact situation could never possibly happen but with your own mother instead of your child... you are sorely mistaken. :banghead:

Dating total losers is all part of the growing up process. Young adults need to date a variety of different people, that is the only way to sort through and find out what it is they are really looking for. I would gently try to give him your opinion, but the more you push the more he will gravitate towards her.

Cut his ass off if he continues. But I still think the secret hooker is the best idea.

Better let him know the gravy train ends if he stays stupid before he sires a pup.

The deed was done in OC. And has continued to be done. I could tell you stories that would make you lock your little boy up for the rest of his life. This girl and her family both are trash!

If you searched myspace looking for better matches, how exactly were you going to apporach these girls to set them up with your son? I know if some guys Mom sent me a message saying I want you to go out with my son I would run in the other direction. JMO.

Ott and I have raised three children, two sons and a daughter. Doubt there's much you could tell us that would surprise us.
