Touchdown!!!
Redskins new home page!
Fitting.
You know what really bothered me about his presser yesterday? He, The Bruce, was trying to make a virtue of this debacle by saying it gives him a unique opportunity to see how things work around here, during the season.
That is the kiss of doom.
I hired a guy like that to a key position years ago, equivalent to a GM on my tiny scale. He told me that AFTER he started, that he wanted to observe how we did things. This after an extensive interview process that focused, already, on the things we were not happy with AND, AND what HE would bring to the table.
So, was he brought in to fit in or take over?
A trick play only works when you catch the opposing team by surprise. When I saw the highlight this morning I thought it was a replay of a High School you tube clip.
Just beat Dallas and all will be forgotten. That was embarrassing
He can't have much impact til the offseason. :shrug:Welcome to the DanBruce era.

You forgot one important fact.... The Giants took a timeout after seeing what the Skins were doing and the Skins still ran the play. No surprise in that!!!He can't have much impact til the offseason.
There is an element of surprise in that play. They weren't expecting the Skins to set so many guys off to one side. It was a mess. There were two possibilities -- either they take a direct snap and run it (assuming the Giants move most of their guys over to cover the players that split out), or they throw a screen pass to the guys that were undercovered. The Giants weren't expecting a play like that and weren't sure what to do on defense, which added to the element of surprise.
It could have worked, but the execution was a disaster. There were OL lined up to the far left, so clearly it's designed as a screen pass. You don't toss a pass into the dang secondary when it's a screen, which is why the ball was intercepted. The Giants left extra guys over the ball, which is why they applied pressure so easily. If the QB had thrown it where he was supposed to, you know, behind the line of scrimmage for a screen, then the number of blockers outnumbered the amount of defenders...which could have led to a TD.
That's not a good play to run in that situation (even if they nail their blocks, you're basically calling a running/screen play and chances are it won't get all the way to the end zone. That's a potentially good 4th down play where you just need some yardage to continue the drive...but that's it.
