Get a real nice ball busting, back breaking, sweaty, dirty, job like mine, and get paid more to work out... instead of paying to work out...

Skinny bodybuilder types who sport string tank tops like they are huge. They really end up being pretty weak.

:lmao::killingme:duel::pete::yahoo:

Directed at a certain forumite, who shall go unnamed. :lmao:

Taken from Matt Rhodes' Training Log on EliteFTS.com

So, these are some things I've been thinking about. It all makes sense. People definately make too big of a deal about healthy eating. It's all over-rated.

> > Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?

> > A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it . Don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

> > Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

> > A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

> > Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

> > A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

> > Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

> > A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

> > Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?

> > A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

> > Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

> > A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! . . . . Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

> > Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?

> > A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

> > Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

> > A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

> > Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

> > A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

> > Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

AND . . . . .

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

> > 1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

> > 2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

> > 3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

> > 4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

> > 5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

> > CONCLUSION:

> > Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Long time since I have posted. Most of the dumb "New Year's Resolutions" exercisers are gone from the gym. Thank God!

I have discussed my disdain for the teenie boppers who wear wife beaters a while back.

Well, the gym was packed yesterday evening with them. The setup at ProFitness has the Power Rack (the single most important piece of equipment in the gym) in a corner with the Smith Machine (the single most worthless piece of equipment in the gym).
I had the pleasure :sarcasm: of having to use the Power Rack while one of these "said" teenie boppers was using the Smith Machine. He was using it with his "groupie" girlfriend. They were doing a butchered version of front squats. :lmao: I hate to see folks perform these "bodybuilding style. Just man up and do it Olympic style. Its better for your shoulders anyhow.
The girlfriend just complained the whole time. :buttkick::tantrum The teenie bopper kept telling her some BS to help alleviate the pain. No success. She ended up hurting her shoulders and dropping the bar. I saw her showing him the bruises. What a dumb girl for believing his non-sense. IF IT HURTS DON'T DO IT!!
When they were done they had a make out session in the corner. Or I should say, he tried to have a make out session. She was pushing him away, lol. I had to tell him to get moving or get a room.

Well, I left Pro Fitness in search of greener pastures. I'll make a long story short. World Gym in Leonardtown is way closer to where I live and I am also paying less per month for my wife and I.

I am returning to a gym that I helped open in 2000. I left in 2003. Much of the same nice equipment and some great additions. I was told so many BS stories about World Gym since John Parker took over. Like not being able to do any type of deadlifting, dumbbells not going up past 80lbs, no chalk, no grunting, and other BS. Not true at all. I cannot believe I fell for the load of crap.

I have only been back 2 weeks. My training is going very well. The atmosphere is quiet and reserved but everyone has been friendly. Nice to see some of the old faces and regulars. I have been asked if I am working there again. lol

A couple of days ago, I witnessed something beyond my comprehension. Something so wildly funny that I must share.

A dude came in sporting a very thick hoodie sweatshirt. He hopped up on an elliptical, pulled the hood up, and yanked the drawstrings tight. Thus closing the hood over his face. Only his nose was visible!

Now I am not stupid. I understand that boxers and mma guys pull up there hoods on their sweatshirts while training to sweat more. And to also get themselves in a "hardcore" zone so-to-say. But nothing like this.

This dude proceded to train with this setup in the weightroom also!! He was doing some weird grunting/breathing/wheezing crap too. I almost lost it! :lmao:

Anyhow, good times...............

there seriously needs to be a cell phone ban in the gym...they are doing it other places why not there? It is increasingly getting worse..and I'm sick and tired of having people all around me talk on the phone while they are doing cardio. It is starting to drive me insane...if you can have a conversation on the phone...you obviously aren't working hard enough.
