SOYG (Sick of Your Gym)

Ant

I have a new one for ya. :killingme
One I have never seen before. :killingme

A female trainer (I use the term loosely), from my gym had a client standing on top of yoga blocks to do squats. :bigwhoop:

I guess it was supposed to be "Balance" oriented training.:killingme

LMAO, OMG I would have a nervous breakdown if I had to get on Yoga blocks to do squats... I have a hard enough time sticking my @ss out in front of all those people in the gym, let alone raised up in any fashion.... thats just me though.... self conscious:blushing::frown:

Soooooo... were they doing squats with a barbell?? Did it *add* anything to the exercise?

Doing any kind of balance exercise is overrated. Waste of time.

The trainer had the female holding DBs while doing the squats. Problem is the female can barely do a squat on the floor.

Do you really think that? Balance exercise is overrated.

I don't see the point in doing squats on the yoga blocks. I have done balance exercises with weight training involved and did see some nice results.

You would have gotten the same results doing the same exercises in a non-balance gimmic way.

Balance training is good for the type of ppl who like yoga, pilates, and so forth. "A perfectly safe exercise is a perfectly USELESS exercise." :killingme

You are completly off bases. Do some research on Neuromuscular Recruitment. Balance training increases more Motor Units and therfore increases size in muscle fiber density. Go and watch the best athletes in the world, and since you have USMC in your name, the military sends thier best forces to Athletes Performance in AZ. Do you think all of these people are wrong? Do some research. If you have any questions, I would be glad to educate you.

Be that guy who is doing balance exercises in the gym, so that everyone can laugh at you to include the women. Continue doing your cardio kickboxing and let your results speak for itself. Those balance plates will work wonders for your squats/deadlift.

People laugh at what they dont know. Balanec will actually help with squats and deadlifts actually. Like I said, do your homework and you might learn something. Just curious, whats your fitness background???
