Stray Friendly Young Boxer - HELP PLEASE

I get very emotional about my critters, especially when people like Katelin slam me. I know I need to have a tougher shell, and believe me, I'm working on it. Had I not picked up Boxy from that business in Upper Marlboro, he would have ended up at the shelter that day, and likely have been put down

I saved his life, and I know it, but he's a wonderful dog (I posted elsewhere on the forum recently about his attributes) and he's worth saving despite the over-abundance of pets in this Country. On the other hand I can think of a few people who I wouldn't extend that same consideration to.

Boxy eats Taste of the Wild 2 X a day (sometimes 3), gets walked 4 times a day, and he sleeps in a King Sized bed every night with his own blankie and his own pillow. Not ideal that he can't run in a big 6' fenced yard .... but compared to dying at the shelter, or being caged somewhere, he's doing well as someone said.

I am honest about critters, and in the process I admit the critter may not have an ideal life, but I am here to bridge the gap until they find their forever home.

I like that your not just trying to find anyone to just take him but a real home.

Eye

I would also opt to close the eye surgically, but if it can't be done due to money, then a nice eye wash would help for now, wouldn't it? I think he's just too cute either way. :huggy:

Guess who let me put a doggie coat over his head? Yeah ! So it appears it's just a matter of TRUST with Boxy. I use every opportunity to touch his body all over, AND recently was able to put his flea/tick drops on him without him looking at me suspiciously too ! I am so excited!

I have a feeling he will as we already have people that have expressed an interest in him. I took him outside in the snow flurries a minute ago and the winds were gusting so much he got excited and ran around in circles a few times LOL He's silly.

His eye has not been addressed yet. So I am thinking it's time to go forward to get the surgery done. I will defer to Catt about who/when to get that done. I have the feeling that we could probably get donations to cover his eye closing surgery? The eye is MISSING we were told. So the eye needs to be closed surgically to avoid debris getting into his missing eye area. If anyone wants to donate they can do so via PM to Catt or via:

Lisa's Ark Critter Rescue
P O Box 242
Brandywine, MD 20613

Note BOXY on your donation.

I DID donate money and you threw it back in my face Arkie...so WHY should people send you money when it is obvious you dont need it?

Beggers cant be choosers ..as the saying goes...

Oh are you a 501(c)3?

I can't believe you have not addressed this open wound Arkie.

I dont care want Catt says..or you believe..but any eye trauma should be addressed and not ignored for 3 months!

How would you feel if you walked around with an open eye socket?

The dog would be better off at a rescue group that has the funds and staff and environment that can take care of this dog, instead of being your "project".

I beg you to do the right thing by this dog and get him the proper help he needs!

Romans suggestion of a daily eye wash is excellent and should have started the moment you found him.
I feel so sorry for this boxer, I really do.

...and with those "gusting" winds, any idea what kind of microscopic material was blown into his eye socket?

Come on Katelin, lay off! It's not like she is not trying to do her best to find him a home. In all honesty if he does not pass a temperment test why should she spend money on closing his eye. Why stress him out more at the vet where he obviously had some previous issues.
I believe the vet only suggested it as it was mostly needed for cosmetic reasons not medical.
You may be sabatoging his chance of finding a forever home on this forum with your rants about him and personal gripes about ArkRescue.

If I knew there was an animal in need I would not care if the person asking was a 503C or not. Unless I needed a tax deduction. Oh that's right Arkie is living the high life, with her monthly vacations and all.. :sarcasm:

I know you have your wildlife rescue as your priority and we all admire that and not many rag you daily about it, may I suggest you do the same.

And since Katelin is not aware of the extent of his eye problem and has never actually seen the dog or spoken to the vet who cared for him, she doesn't have a clue what she's talking about.

You are correct Prep. The vet said it was NOT medically necessary.

Holy sh!t, what's with all this BS? Ark saved a dog's life and is giving the dog a loving home while trying to find a forever home. Why all the drama, what's the point? Anyone who believes in animal rescue should be sticking together, not trying to act hollier than God. Ridiculous, really. Good on ya, Ark (and Catt) for helping this pup.

Geeze Ark, sorry you are having to put up with all this crap from "K." She is really spun up about you helping Boxy.

There are so many people that want to complain and offer no help.

Keep up the good work. Praying Boxy gets a good loveing furebber home.
