Adopt me please !
The guy is married and they had 2 boxers for many years. The dogs both died in the past year or so of old age. The oldest was 14. Listening to him talk, he sounded like his dogs acted just like Boxy does about his food, cats, energy, etc. It's interesting how much alike Boxers can be.
Instead of purebred, they decided to go with a rescue this time. Barring any issues with the vet check, Boxy will be going to his new home next week. I am so excited for Boxy, as I feel no reservations at all about Boxy's well-being with this couple. They have been there, done that with their 2 prior Boxers.
Boxy hit it off with the guy immediately. Accepted potato chips from him readily (quite an accomplishment since in the beginning he didn't accept food from strangers) and Boxy was all over him wanting to play. New people meeting Boxers ought to be given a crotch guard (guys anyway). Every guy Boxy gets close to and says "HI" to, ends up cringing a bit LOL
The guy said he was particularly impressed at how Boxy handled taking food (gently) and how he doesn't bite down on your hand or arm when playing. Boxy won't even play tug-of-war. He said he would be willing to get Boxy's eye closed. Said he's had Boxers in the past that were difficult to handle at the vet office, been there, done that ... oh and I had Boxy show off and he did his sit/down/rollover too.
