Stray Friendly Young Boxer - HELP PLEASE

Katelin

You do not know the dog or the situation and certainly need not comment on her collection of critters.

Like I said before, if you have nothing constructive to offer, shut up.

What have you actively done to help Catt?
At least your boxers..(how many).. have a HUGE yard to run in!

Arky admits that the dog does not have proper exercise area, and it fights w/ her other dogs, and has to share its eating area with other animals. This is public knowledge.!

It seems that this dog is being denied the care and training it needs.

I feel sorry for all who continue to enable and ignore what is right for this dog.

If my harsh comments bother "you", then it is for a reason..and it is not because you think this dog is getting ALL it deserves and is in a peaceful, loving home!

And Catt...who has evaluated him and who is working with him and his "issues" on a daily basis?

How about contacting Cesar Millan ? I bet he would be happy to help with this dog esp. since he is a "rescue" and you all consider him "special" because he has "issues" specific to "Boxers"

Arky may have the best of intentions, but without action, intentions are just dust bunnies.

I doubt if he cones out for this dog... but if you know him and wanna give him a jingle .. rock one

So r u going to come take my dogs from me.. or say I do t take care of my dogs.. they don't all go out for walks ... and they don't have a huge yard to run in

And yea I have two cats as well.... and two of the dogs I have r food aggressive .... and two one has the issue of charging another animal if he gets a chance.

But I doubt u r the pet owner of the year winner......

Folks want to house boxer

OK Arky..Perfect for you:

A boxer was found in St. Marys and made it to Facebook..all sorts of folks want to help and 2 have offered to give a boxer a home..
All you have to do is go to FB SOUTHERN MARYLAND ALERTS

Here is the initial post: repost : Ashley Garrison Gines
There is a brown and white boxer around Kingston Creek Road in California Md area. It does not have a collar, seems to be limping and is getting into trash cans. It seems to be nervous, going to call animal control hopefully they can help it. Any missing?

There are 20+ comments about this dog..and offers to give it a home.
Perhaps you can place your boxer in a new home today!!

You should post a good full body photo and story of your boxer to this FB page. ( and not the photo from your FB page.) You just might find him help or a real home!

Good Luck!

Arkie,
Don't you think that after 2+ months his owners would have looked for him?
What a lame excuse for not doing right by him.

There is NO owner..he got dumped like so many other animals that end up in shelters or professional rescue groups.

Get him a real home before you do more damage to him and the rest of your collection of critters.

He deserves a real home with a yard and safe place to eat and play and relax without being bothered by other dogs or pets.

Why dont you foster Boxy, Katelin. You seem to have all the answers. You're so quick to condemn someone for helping but you offer no other solution that would involve you getting personally, financially or emotionally involved. People like you get on my last nerve. If you really had the dogs best interest at heart you would be working with Arky to help find a suitable permanent home for Boxy. So if you have nothing nice to say, then just dont say anything and go harrass someone else who is trying to do the right thing.:smack:

Not that it matters, but we have two Boxers in our home.

I have had him vetted, at my own expense of $200 at the Calvert Well Pet Clinic. He was positive for Lyme and I had him treated for this, and he received all of his shots and a six-month supply of heartworm preventative. I spoke to the animal behaviorist on Monday and believe she will spend the day with the dog this weekend or next and we will proceed in accordance with her recommendations. Again, paid for out of MY pocket with the help of another forumite.

Arkie has taken him in, he is no longer roaming the streets. He is well fed and cared for. Maybe not ideal in your eyes but right now, no rescue will take him and it's not because we are not trying. There are many people working behind the scenes to help this dog. He is not kept outside, he is not in a cage. He does get exercise. Perhaps not ideal, but I doubt that all dogs have perfect situations. Please re-read the thread. Boxy does not fight with other dogs. He is part of a family and he is happy.

I do NOT subscribe to Mr. Milan's techniques and most certainly am not a follower. I'm not sure of your reference to "you all" concerning Mr. Milan.

Your harsh comments offend me because I spend countless hours helping animals and trying to educate people to the good that rescue organizations can and do provide to both animals and humans. Your acerbic comments do nothing but push people away from rescue organizations. As volunteers, we are the emissaries of the organizations that we represent. The animals whose lives we hold in our hands count on us to remain positive and work hard as a team and not be spiteful and condescending to one another. It is counter productive to the cause.

If you would like to contribute to his care, or visit with him, please contact me or Arkie at your convenience.

Please understand I mean this in the nicest possible way... really you should get some help with your issues soon. You aren't always right, and this need to draw attention to yourself probably stems from low self esteem, perhaps you can talk to your pastor or a therapist. Maybe some anger management training. There is no shame in getting help with your problems and moving on with your life. Really. You just might find yourself in a happier place., bless your heart.

Ark keep doing what your doing. Not too many people would take in a stray and put out money to make sure its feed and healthy. I hope you find a home for him.

I am not set up for dogs, so I do not have one at this time.. I know my limits.

My house is set up for the care, comfort and entertainment of my cats.
All of whom are rescued, are all fully vetted, are all microchipped and who all stay inside. (One is due for rabies update this week)

Right now 3 are asleep on the padded cat shelf in front of the window, in the sunlight.

One is asleep on the cat bar behind the couch..that space is heated with 2 heat units bought from Petsmart...and one is asleep on the couch.
Litter boxes are clean and there is fresh California Natural cat food and clean water out for them 24/7.

Only major probem is that if you visit, you will leave with cat hairs on your cloths.
So I guess that would keep me from being the pet owner of the year.

Very nice post, Catt. Those who know you know how much effort you put into animals and their well being. I truly hope you don't take Katelin's ramblings to heart. I wouldn't trust her with a stuffed animal.

Finally, an honest update..and good for you for spending $200.00 for your money for him.
And thanks to Jean and the Calvert Well Pet Clinic for his medical care.

Sorry I had to piss you off to post this info.

Perhaps if Arky posted this story on her web site she could get more donations. She does have that PayPal function.

Thank you for the indepth, fact filled update!!

Again, sorry I had to piss you off to finally speak up and tell the truth about this dog.
Hopefully it can find a good foster home soon!

Who/where do I mail a check to for a donation?

Well, if you're not set up for dogs, what right do you have to question someone else who may not be "set up" for dogs, but has chose to help one anyway. You dont know your limitations because if you did, you would keep your mouth shut. How many dogs have you had experience with? You just sit there with your kitties and watch the world go by, it appears thats what you do best...but leave the rest of us alone and keep your mindless chattering to yourself. That is all......Thank you!!

I dont get it. Who do you think you are? What business is it of yours on the particulars of this dog? How does this even involve you? If you wanted to donate money, why didnt you just send a pm asking where to donate instead of pizzing someone off in a public forum and on things that just arent your business. If they say they are handling it (Ark and Catt), then leave it be, its none of your business. Move away from the thread. If you had wanted to help then I would have taken a hint a good ways back when someone ask that you "shut up". I dont think it can get any clearer than that. If you are this obtuse, and you dont have money at stake, I can only imagine how much worse you would be if you did have money invested in the dog.

I will call bluff to this!

As we all can see... the "tribe" has spoken ... so shut ur trap!
And leave her alone!
if someone wants to help or save a dog or cat
... so be it!

If some of us want to hoard critters and say we help them... well then...

This is a public forum..and as such open to public comments pro and con.
Anyone that runs a rescue is open for inspection (so to speak).
I am inspecting and asking question as this boxer cant.

I feel that this boxer has not gotten the help it deserves and that the updates have been shallow at best.

So now the word is out, the update given in wondeful detail and it sounds that Catt is doing all she can to help this dog.

I would hope that this will help the dog get a real home and that donations flow in.

If I have pissed you off enough to sit up, take notice, speak out and take action, then it is a very good thing.
I have VERY thick skin so say what you will about me, does not matter one bit.

What does matter is that this dog is FINALLY having his story told instead of comments like: "He growled at the cat..or I am still looking for its owners"

Kuddos to Catt for speaking out!!
