Touring bikes have a rubber mounted bike. The Dyna's and Softtails have a counter balanced solid mount.

My experience is this:

The touring bikes have a vibration when stopped, as soon as you start moving it stops. The Dyna's and Softails are the opposite. When stopped they are smooth, once you start moving the vibration is noticable but not terrible.

My uncle did a road trip to California on a rigid frame w/ a girder front end many moons ago. He made it as far as Arizona before mechanical issues sent back here.

Miraculously, he did not liquefy his kidneys during this trip.

My Softail shakes ALL the time now. :lol: For some strange reason, the girlfriend prefers this bike to the Buell now. :lol: Could this be that eternal buzz that she had been searching for?

Dunno if I still want to take my mom for rides on the Harley anymore though. :ohwell:
