Wasn't meant to be. One of our club members rode the 400cc up to York with us to tour the Harley plant. No problem running on the highway 75-80 mph.bcp said:Thats not funny.
and then, a quick phone call verified that the 900 vulcan came standard with the toe/heel shifter.aps45819 said:Wasn't meant to be. One of our club members rode the 400cc up to York with us to tour the Harley plant. No problem running on the highway 75-80 mph.
I think if my options were limited, I'd rather ride a scooter than be confined to a cage.
Flame paint job, skull mirrors you'd be good to go

so thats my next project, to see if I can use that as a shifter.
Still can believe that I dont have enough lift in my foot to shift a freaking bike.
I could still ride I guess, but I figure that people on the highway would get pretty pissed off at me staying in first gear the whole time.
next issue. Will my inability to lift up on my foot cause issues when putting my foot down at stops...
Yes, I would say not being able to lift your foot would cause you great pain and possible combustion if you can't get it off the pavement when you take off. Try tying a string to the end of your foot and then to your left wrist. You can pick up your foot and also shift with a flick of the wrist. Just be careful and don't flick it in the wrong company.bcp said:and then, a quick phone call verified that the 900 vulcan came standard with the toe/heel shifter.

I thought of doing this and connecting it to a spring when I first was trying to walk without tripping.desertrat said:You could rig up a boot with an eyebolt in the toe.

aps45819 said:get a bike like mine, you won't be able to reach the ground so no problem
bcp said:sitting here thinking on the subject, Foxhound has some african engineered foot pegs and shifter. I wonder if the normal persons setup would allow me to shift..
the normal set up would leave my foot flat to start with, his leave my foot already up to a point that the control is gone..
HMMMMMMM
my voyager had highway pegs also, but they were in addition to the standard pegs. the shifter was still down low and there was no shift at the highway peg level.onebdzee said:Mine has "highway pegs" so you might have an issue with those also

I'd like a ride, please. TIA.Ponytail said:My Softail shakes ALL the time now. For some strange reason, the girlfriend prefers this bike to the Buell now. Could this be that eternal buzz that she had been searching for?
Dunno if I still want to take my mom for rides on the Harley anymore though.
