You usually get it. :ohwell:
Acutally I could care less. Your choices aren't taken away, they're merely limited.

I think those whom are whining on either side need to get a grip.

Exactly, you still have a choice to go to all those establishments, and you have the further choice, if you want to lite up, to go outside.

Heh, restaurants make more money when customers cannot smoke inside.

Tell the drug addicts if they want their hit to do it outside where kids won't be forced to breath their disease.

If smokers would stand firm and vote with their dollar, restaurant owners would start to feel it and they'd be a little more forceful in sticking up for their rights as a business owner.

Unfortunately, it's not the nature of most smokers to act like whiny buttheads, bawling and puling about every little thing. So we keep giving our taxes to the welfare crowd while we stand outside smoking like good little sheeple.

I intend to stop dining out when this ban goes into effect. The food I cook is better anyway, and the beer is less expensive.

Eat, drink whatever you want, just don't expect to be able to force other people to eat and drink the same things.

Of course separate rooms don't work. The waiters and waitresses still have to breath that foul cancer causing crap.

Make the drug addicts take their bad habits outside where it can't hurt anyone.

Wee!

As a reformed smoker I am soooo glad they passed this ban. I want to enjoy my food without smelling that odor! I would refuse to eat at Applebee's and IHOP because it smelled so much like an ashtray. The seperate rooms do not work! Recently I was staying with my mom and my sister. My mother was on one end of the rather large house with her window open, her clean air machine running full blast and her door shut and I came out of my room clear across this house and could smell the cigarette smoke plainly!! It does not work to put people in seperate rooms, non-smokers can and will still smell it! I say  for the new ban! JMHO! :howdy:

Tobacco will never be illegal. There aren't enough police to deal with the destruction those drug addicts would wreak if they were denied their hits.

Like i said, i dont support the ban, and i see this as the forerunner of making tobacco illegal, but it doesn't really affect your choices very much, it just means you have to wait until after you finish eating before you can toke up, waiting 5 mins won't kill ya, neither will walking outside

If tobacco was made illegal, there would be a pitchfork uprising in the 7th...:lmao:

In all seriousness, just because people have the liberty to smoke, does not give them the authority to contaminate the air of the non-smokers. There is a reason why non-smokers are called NON-smokers. If those who smoke must have their cigarette, they can go outside. Cold or not, you'll feel better after that cigarette, won't you?

Isn't Bingo a form of gambling anyway? What's the difference between that and slots?
Yes it is, but I don't play bingo, I have to work at bingo several times a year. One of the complaints used by parents to get out of working is that the smoke smell is so intense. My bigger concern though is that the smokers spend a LOT more in that bingo hall than nonsmokers and what is spent brings in revenues for the schools. If smoking is banned there I see a decrease in revenues. Without the profitable bingo revenue, I also foresee a huge hike in tuitions and fundraising. So my question was directly related to my wallet.

I think if the gov. wants non smoking resturants, and bars..maybe build new establishments, and from the get go (I mean, why not, they are building every other effin thing we don't need in somd.), make them all smoke free... but leave the exsisting ones alone, UNLESS they decide, they would like to go smoke free...

Truth be told, you can ban it in bars, but unless you rebuild the entire place, you will smell smoke in there for the next 10 yrs...

And by then, most of you non smokers will have some other disease to cry about, and us smokers will all be dead....

So who cares

I think vrai did. She asked to be shown where it says anyone has a right to clean air, or something like that.

Exactly what is the bill number that was passed or at least a decent bill title as I would like to read the text of the legislation.

You should come check out the american legion in lusby on monday nights. They dont allow smoking, but for the past few months you cant even find a parking space on mondays. All the old bitties come rolling out the bar section when they took their break. They will just have to roll outside....
The people come for the gambling, not the ability to smoke.

This may be the case, but look at who most patrons of a bar are during the week when NOTHING is going on except the fact, you want a drink... its the smokers....atleast at all the bars I've been around after work...
