Tonight on my ride home I met the greatest driver in SOMD.

Why? traffic is traffic. How many vehicals is it OK to block?

:gossip: If I was doing 70, I should probably be in the right lane to let the speeders by

This is my grate.... What ticks me off to no end is when I'm in the left lane doing 65-70, steadily passing cars on the right and some assclown is STILL riding up my ass. Before having kids when I was still one myself I'd of tapped the brakes on such morons. Now you never know what the hell someone will do to you.

I think there is actually a law about impeding traffic...

Many moons ago, a girlie friend of wifey's got a ticket on 301 for travelling in the left lane for 6 miles impending traffic.

Your emergency flashers use the same circuit in your tail lights as the brakes.

I almost never see the Harley/Cruiser riders riding irresponsibly. It's usually the sport bikes.
I would agree with that, I rarely see a cruiser speed excessively

I tried wearing a half-helmet, like most (not all) cruisers wear, and it gets downright uncomfortable at anything above 55 or 60. Between the wind trying to either tear your helmet off, or your head from your shoulders, and the wind noise, I slowed considerably. That and above 45 - 50 it would be downright impossible for them to keep the cigarette lit..

I always wondered why on 235 they just laze along, and hang in the right lane.

Cause we're cool. We know we'll get where we are going. What's the rush?

Sometimes you can't. They're pacing the traffic in the right lane.
I'm always amazed at the difference in how I'm treated when I'm on the bike. Folks will slide over to the right and let me by.
With my three "high beams" they tend to let me by just out of irritation I think..

I don't tail-gate, at least I don't think I do, but I've had people pull over into the break down lane on 235 to let me by..

I LOVE this!

Wouldn't it be great if we could start a vehicle narc squad? When you see a young person driving unsafely, post it on here in hopes the parents will see it and take action. :yay:
Start getting tag numbers people. That might alert a few parents what their "angels" are up to before they kill someone or themselves. I don't have a teenage driver yet, but I would like to know if he/she was misbehaving behind the wheel.

Because parents have a right to know if their kid is driving like a maniac so they can take corrective action. Some 40 year old, what's his Mom going to do about it?
There was a service out there that sold you bumper stickers and an answering service for a monthly fee..

Basically the bumper sticker said.. "Driver under 18, If I'm driving like an ass call 1-800-xxx-xxxx" You'd call that number, they'd log the infraction and send a report to the parents..

Of course the driver KNEW the sticker was back there, so few infractions were actually called in.

If I think I might be I count the 2 seconds.. and if I'm close I back off even a little more.. I TRY not to tailgate, cause I don't want to eat the back bumper of ANY car.

itsbob, if you have people pulling over in the breakdown lane just to let you by... it's you driving like an azz... not them...:eyebrow:

Of course now you can fit your car with a tracking device, and it sends you a report of where you car is, max speed travelled.. etc.. etc.. so now your kids will know there are no secrets. They'll have to go where they say they are going, you'll know how fast they travelled to get there..

Think that would slow them down some..

I didn't say ANYONE was driving like an ass.. I think it was them being courteous and letting me by... They don't get in behind me and tailgate me to get even, they don't try to turn into me as I go by, they just pullover and get back out into the travel lane and continue on.

I'm usually happy cruising behind them in the left part of the lane, and sometimes, not REAL often, they pull over and just let me by.

I hear this a lot from people that have the modulated headlights, I don't, so I don't know why they do it.

All I'm saying is if someone feels the need to veer off the road on order to get you from behind them... there's a problem somewhere...:eyebrow:

At your age you should be counting 4 seconds, you know, with your reflexes being slower than the average-age rider. :huggy:
