Tonight on my ride home I met the greatest driver in SOMD.

Of course now you can fit your car with a tracking device, and it sends you a report of where you car is, max speed travelled.. etc.. etc.. so now your kids will know there are no secrets. They'll have to go where they say they are going, you'll know how fast they travelled to get there..

Think that would slow them down some..
That there is perty neat. Better even than hidin in the trunk. Cept you can't jump out and scare the crap out of em at a kegger. :lmao:

All I'm saying is if someone feels the need to veer off the road on order to get you from behind them... there's a problem somewhere...:eyebrow:
Like I said, I think it's my lights.. not my driving.

itsbob, if you have people pulling over in the breakdown lane just to let you by... it's you driving like an azz... not them...:eyebrow:
Not true. I've had that happen several times while on the bike, NEVER while in the car. I think some people are intimidated by the thought of a person riding a bike behind them

Maybe the rabbit bothered them. Or is that not visible from the front?

 Killer is on the back.

Personally, I don't like it when folks pull over to let me by. It feels like a mercy pass that I didn't earn.

I think they are afraid of your tinman outfit. It's probably blinding them.

Doesn't matter - speed limit's still 55 and there is still a legal following distance. It's never legal to speed even if you're keeping up with traffic.

Besides, it was only 2 lanes.

I had another few arrogant pricks this morning too. Some dude passed me on a double solid on Rosewick doing at least 70. Then he has the nerve to flip me off and I'll tell you what I would've liked to have done with that finger. I just don't know why people have to be so arrogant on the roads around here.

The Maryland Driver's Handbook reads "When you are driving more slowly than the traffic flow on a highway that has two or more lanes in your direction, you should move to and stay in the right lane." Cruising in the left lane is discourteous and impedes a safe flow of traffic.

The roar of my engine scares people all the time. :lmao:

Then I feel like a real jerk. Would I want someone doing that to my Mom?
I treat everyone around me like they're a 16 year old with a brand new driver's license and may make a judgement error at any time. I stay as far off them as I can, don't pressure them to go faster, anticipate that they mean to take the exit they're getting ready to pass, forgive them if they make a mistake or let an opportunity to pull into traffic pass them by.

It's no big deal and, as uptight as I can be about a lot of things, I'm a surprisingly relaxed driver.

No one pays attention to that. If we all followed the rules we learned when in drivers ed or by our folks there would be no work for the emergency crews or body shops.

I am guilty of flipping people off when the top is down. They can see it better that way. I have tourette's finger.

Not to mention it says "highway"..... I don't consider ANYTHING in SOMD a highway.

Normally I pay no extra attention if there's a bike behind me EXCEPT if I'm smoking. Because (and I'll certainly hear about this) I have this fear of flipping my butt out the window and having it bounce off their face plate. So if there's a bike behind me, and I'm getting down to the end of the cig, I'll usually encourage them to pass me.
