Trial for Mechanicsville Crash Postponed Again

It's a popular thing with some familys to
take the " High " road.

I was referring to the Scottish song, and hoping you would get the meaning. But, alas, you are still an ass.

And, do want to say that this thread has been like a public flogging, burning at the stake, or putting people in stocks in the public square. My point is you cannot criticize if you haven’t been in the same shoes. That is why I hate social media. People are quick to judge when they are anon. Again, I am 63 years old, and have never participated in social media; except, for this forum. This forum might be a microcosm, but it sure shows peoples’ underwear. So to speak. I think people don’t do their laundry enough, and the poop stains will, eventually, not come out.

VV severely injured several innocent people. She did this by making a decision to drive, while under the influence of alcohol or drugs or both. She now is trying to extract sympathy for her predicament. No matter how you look at it, that family would not be suffering from those debilitating injuries, had she not drove that night. In one of her posts, she says she has remorse, in the next paragraph, she says she doesn't understand how she can be held responsible for her actions. Again, I say this, If you think you've done nothing wrong, if you can justify your actions by thinking this way, you'll make the same mistake again.

Hey,

Rays here from Rays Plumbing!

Your response could not have worded it better. There is no room for learning right and wrong if you yourself can't come to grips with being fully wrong (in this case being accountable) then you will always walk the same path. That is what we see Vickie doing here.

And LittleLady, I would not call this a public flogging. This thread was at 2.5 pages for months and was basically entirely forgotten about for months and Vickie was the one who brought it back to light and allowed herself to be scrutinized. Sorry but that's the truth.

Thanks,

Ray

She noted Gellings has been downplaying her role in the October 2016 crash on social media. “She has made numerous statements that her conviction was wrongful,” said Kaspar.

After the sentencing, Kaspar told TheBayNet.com that should Gellings choose to contest Riddle’s sentence, her social media comments, comments heard outside the courtroom and the presentence investigation’s revelation that she was advised not to drive by a physician prior to the 2016 crash will all be cited during the appeal hearing.

Hey Ray here from Rays plumbing,

What a sad day that was to watch. But probably the worst was to watch the defendant continuously roll her eyes, smirk at others in the courtroom and throw her arms up during the emotional victim statements being read. How sad that these people will have to see her again in an appeal trial and relive all of this.

Thanks
Ray

Some times it is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot than to open it and prove you are.

Good. She showed no remorse or acceptance of the responsibility for the crash. If she got 20 years total she will probably be up for parole in 5-7. Sad, but it’s better than nothing.

I think a number of people advised her that she wasn't doing herself any favors by posting the things she did.

Sadly it's only 5 years total. A year and a half for each misdemeanor assault to run consecutive and the dui to run concurrent.
It's even less than that. She'll be out in two. But then, she is such a twit, she'll manage to forfeit all her good time just by arguing with the staff...

From Angle Kalnasy, a REAL Victim

Yes, I created an account JUST to post in this thread, as I’m sure you’ll point out, VirgoVictoria. Oh wait, you can’t - you’re in a jail cell, my bad. But, I just HAD to update my dear Southern Marylanders and to finally speak out about this issue, as I honestly really am a REAL victim from this case.

I truly hope that I do not receive any backlash from this post, but just to keep my sanity, this will be my one and only post in this forum, I will just be checking it. I really, truly am a victim, and I suffer every day of my life because of the doings of VirgoVictoria. I honestly do not think she will EVER truly realize the wrong that she did or feel any TRUE sympathy about what she has done. I give up on her actually receiving a just punishment in the end, and I really feel that NO punishment would ever measure to the degree of assault and pain that she has caused. I hope she gets a real punishment after she appeals, but again, nothing will compare to mine, my husband’s, my sister-in-law’s, and my friend’s completely undeserved LIFETIME punishment. Nothing. I’m just glad that she got to hear what I had to say in my victim impact statement. This is something that I truly worked hard on, with the hopes that VirgoVictoria would feel SOME kind of remorse for the life she really did end. I don’t think she felt any real remorse, just bitter anger for being called out, seeing as she was either just blankly staring at each person talking, or she would be rolling her eyes, angrily raising her hands, and smirking at people in the room the entire time during statements from victims. But, whatever. She heard what I had to say. That alone is huge considering my speech injury that she forced me to now live with.

I wrote a very lengthy, but honestly well written victim impact statement, if I do say so myself. I was very proud of this statement, as in my condition, it truly was a difficult task to write. I read the last little paragraph myself and I think I was understood well, despite one of the MINOR injuries I now must live the remainder of my life with, is a severe speech impediment. I just wanted VirgoVictoria to hear what I’ve gone through, so no matter what happens in appeal process, idgaf. I said my piece. And I said “peace” as she left. Please read below for my small closing to my victim impact statement that I miraculously read out loud, and was pretty well understood due to my perseverance, hard work & determination.

Hello, your honor. I thank you for finding Victoria Gellings guilty. I implore you to not allow her to do this again and to sentence her to the maximum allowed by law. My stomach is in knots thinking of the destruction she is so nonchalantly able to do without a thought or care in the world. That she will undoubtedly do this again to another innocent human being kills me. She has stolen my ability to live my life how I choose, daily making me wish my life was simply over, as she has devastated us mentally, physically, emotionally and financially with no remorse or compensation from her, not that any of this could be compensated. She’s left us destroyed in the wake of her terrible decisions and needs to be stopped. Please, your honor, don’t let another life suffer and continue to suffer as I have and will for the rest of my life. Thank you, your honor. Apologies for being hard to understand.

Okay, VERDICT: Gellings is spending the next 30 days in county incarceration; then Department of Corrections until we join again....because she is appealing.

Whatever. Again, no punishment compares to the life I now live. I’m just glad she heard me. I also just love that I finally got a “genuine” apology from her, over two years later. Seems reasonable considering I was in a coma for nearly three months, in medical care and recovery until July 2017, constant medical followups, and have recurring struggles just getting through the day due to physical pain, limitations, near blindness, mobility issues, and mental disabilities caused by major brain injuries. She will claim that she attempted to apologize back in July, but she just muttered “sorry” when walking by my wheelchair in court and GRABBED me. Unacceptable. Also, 1 year and 9 months after DESTROYING my life. (FAKE) apology not accepted.

Victoria really is a POS who showed not remorse. It is sad that the court couldn’t find a harsher sentence for her.

I wish you all the best in your recovery.

I went to school with Angie and her husband. Reading this thread and Virgovictorias attempt to downplay the injuries that both of them sustained because of her negligence is appalling.
