They say something is burning but emergency personal will not respond to any call. The worst will not hit for another hour.
They said last night that once winds reach 60mph, they will not respond to anything. Those that didn't evacuate get what they deserve!!

The freepers are having a field day with that reporter. Saying he's been locked out of his hotel and that he won't stop reporting until he takes a yield sign through the spleen. :ohwell:

Dome roof is coming off and windows are shattering.

Superdome roof is leaking NOW

:yeahthat: Catt's Free Republic source was correct FT.

That is one of my favorite news sources.

Morgan mentioned oil going up to $70 a barrel, we haven't seen anything yet, there are drilling platforms, rigs, whatever you call them in the path of this storm. :ohwell:

The Fox 5 reporter has taken shelter it appears.

No, it was a tv/radio station and they have a reporter inside. And because the worst of it is yet to come, they are concerned. Also being reported that some of the levees at Lake Pontchartrain have been breeched and reporting 47.5 foot waves in the storm.

Here's the thread...

Wow! Considering a site on the SuperDome says it was built to take 200mph+ winds for this specific reason... :yikes:

They SHOULD have left the city when they were told to go.They were hauling them out by the busload.

Well, that would have been the sensible decision, yes.

Curious what their food situation is - if the vendors leave stuff in the freezers or if they clean them out. Because certainly there's a generator so they can have power, and maybe get something to eat.

In one article I read, the National Guard said everyone was fed, so they must have some rations - maybe just dried goods and bottled water.

Generators only supply enough back up power for emergency lighting of exits.....

When we were watching the coverage last night, :gossip: laughed and said, "looks like that poor bastard Shepard drew the short straw again!" :lmao:

I can't recall right now, but he was apparently the storm reporter in a previous disaster...

Oh yeah, I think he likes being in the thick of things, storms, Iraq, he runs out the door.

The Superdoom roof has 2 holes in it, about 6 feet long, and of course, it is leaking; there is also a hotel that has collapsed.

They are questioning the fact the emergency personal are not responding to any of these reports. :dork: They were warned.

Upon entry to the Dome, folks were asked not to bring too much... Specifically, they said "no alcohol" (in NO, yeah, right!), and only enough personal items to last a few days...
However, they did say to bring ample food and water (meds) and be prepared for a thorough search upon entry.

I thought about starting a post on "What I Would Take to the Dome if I Lived in Katrina's Path, and Could Not Evacuate"....

I actually did think about it quite a bit... Anyone else?
