Unwanted Dog

:yeahthat:He should contact the police and the news channels. If it's on TV it may make it harder for this person to sell the dog locally if that was the intent. Also, like the story above, maybe the dog would be returned if they saw it belonged to an older disabled man that was heartbroken. At least if someone saw the dog out with someone else it may ring a bell.

Also if a reward was offered for the dog's return, I'd be willing to chip in if needed to get his dog back for him.

So a neighbor actually saw the woman reach over the fence and take the dog? If so, she had an agenda and I doubt he ever sees Benji again. Maybe she made assumptions that because the dog was scruffy and left outside it must be unloved and neglected and her "good deed" is actually something horrid.

He said that there was another dog outside tied (I know this man to have only one dog so I assume he is staying with someone as I know he did not used to live in this area) he said Benji was outside laying by this dog...not in a fence just in the yard and someone in a green suv stopped and got her...this many walks VERY SLOW so it would have taken him time to get to her if he heard anything...I bet she is NOT scruffy...he gets her done regularly...and she is always cut very short...and is kept that way I bet she is less then 1/2 inch...she loves this man..he usually waits for her outside on my picnic table and when I take her to him she is SOOOOOOOO happy to see him and she was only away 45 minutes..

that is great news paso :). glad benji is back with her owner.

:dye::yahoo::buddies: Glad he's back home where he belongs. An update to the little brown dog behind our house, the owners seem to have found another home for him. I havent seen or heard him in a while. Overheard them talking to the neighbor beside them, seems they gave it to a relative. Hopefully he/she is in better hands.

No a disabled customer had his dog taken out of his yard or close to his yard..this man called me many times crying for his dog...I felt so bad for him..He was even admitted to the hospital and had nurses call me to see if I knew anything yet...He put flyers up and I did not even know it but he put my phone number on it...Benji had some unique things I could describe about her...

What wonderful news! I have wondered about these 2 dogs and had been checking for updates.

I almost did not post but I thought about it today and said you know I bet some peeps would like to know about Benji...I know his owner is so happy. I also know Benji loved him...huzzy would cry and cry until I took her out to him..he would wait outside on the picnic table for her...

Bump the thread again

Okay, you remember the little pomeranian mix that our neighbors had and then gave away to someone because they didnt want to potty train the poor thing and let it run all over the neighborhood. Well I just discovered two days ago they have acquired a rottie. Again, they dont seem to spend a lot of time at home, the dog is chained up on a very short chain in the backyard. Last nite it was pouring rain and the dog had no shelter to get out of the rain. I have tried to call animal control several times but all I get is an answering machine. Does anyone have any other ideas who to call? I was thinking the Sheriff's office but dont want to take the chance the dog would be shot. I just dont understand why these people want a dog and then leave it alone for days at a time.:cds:

I am thankful every day for the chitheads who didn't appreciate what a terrific dog Apollo is. I would like to disembowel them with a nail file, but am thankful nonetheless. If it weren't for them, and my DIL's kind mother, he wouldn't be sitting in my lap right now.

Sheriff's office won't come out after hours on a stray call unless you feel threatened by the animal. At least that's what they told me when I called about a neighborhood dog a few years ago. All other calls about strays are handled during normal business hours by AC, so definitely leave a message.

AC called back, said there wasnt anything they could do as long as the dog was restrained in its own yard. The people are home now and I havent seen or heard the poor rottie. Dont know if they got rid of him too or not. Some people should never own pets or have children!!

I kinda like the idea someone else had of stealing a dog that isn't being taken care of. Especially if it isn't something that AC will handle for whatever reason. Not that "I" would do that ..... but some would do it to save the dog.

You stated that the dog did not have shelter from the rain. Please look at the Animal Regulations for care and see if they meet all of them. If not, tell that to Animal Control. Take pictures if you can. Link provided - care regulations are on pages 10-12.
