I'm willing to bet it's the lone-nut gunman. I'm sure most would want it to be more than this, more than an inconsequential guy systematically murdering 22 students. The world is random like that.

When I was in high school this would never have happened. Especially during hunting season. We took our guns to school to go hunting right after school. A gunman tried this back then, he would have probably gotten a 30.06 to the head. Or in rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, etc. season, #4 shot at the very least. We also carried a few leftover 00 Buckshot for special occasions. :lmao: You never knew what you'd run into in the odd Turkey season.

My 12 gauge was always in the trunk when I was in school.:yay: But the squirrels were the only ones that had to worry about it.

That is about the stupidest thing I have ever seen you type.

All tragedies can NOT be prevented. Very condescending and insensitive, even for you.

Isn't that part of their job description? to "defend" ??

it is for the military police....
One, if you know anything about MP's you'd know there is a LOT more to their job than just law enforcment, and they are even considered combat support.. just like the Field Artillery, and Combat Aircraft.. They do have combat missions.

But if you depend on the police defending you like the purveyors of anti gun legislation tell you should, you should go hire some armed bodyguards like they do!

I agree but I would say that all tragedies could be prevented. Only in a perfect world would all tragedies be prevented, we live in a world of great uncertainty when you think about it.

Next time I'm being mugged I'll remember not to call for help since the cops aren't suppose to defend me anyway :sarcasm:

You are talking to ME?!
You sound negative as heck and you are being ignorant to the pain and suffering of those around you. You can be empathetic and giving of compassion without judging those who have suffered through a tragedy and condescending in your attitude. If you call your attitude optimistic, then I don't want to be optimistic if involves being cruel to another human being.

OK, this I don't get. How does the Gov't get over by saying you can't carry a gun into a church? I can understand (to some extent) their oversight of state college campuses, and schools, but what kind of oversight do they have over churches? I would think that would be considered private property, and the owners of said property would make up their own minds as to allowing or not the carrying of handguns.

And in the history of the world with the hate amongst different factions of religion, church would be one place I would REALLY want to carry. I know for a fact that when I went to church there was always at least four guns in the chapel, it was our "duty" to defend ourselves, our families, and fellow brothers and sisters.

I know for a fact if I was a Muslim today, I'd damn sure want to be able to carry a gun to temple..

I know a couple people who would disagree with you - if they hadn't died in an earthquake.

There's also probably a few tsunami/hurricane/tornado/lightning strike victims who would probaby have a few things to say on the subject.
