I agree. Wonder what the gunmen would do if folks were authorized to carry concealed and a few hundred student returned fire to their position. Bet the gunmen would be running instead of shooting.

:yeahthat: :yay:

I don't think that matters. Even if you could carry a gun at school. I would be will to bet that most students wouldn't cary one.

I bet you would be surprised at how many would actually carry. But even then at least you could defend yourself instead of being a sitting duck.

He had a belt strapped across his chest filled with ammo clips - sound better?

Well the so called "gun expert" on Fox is an idiot so if you got it from there I'll forgive you.I see him on there now reporting that the shooter had "replacement clips" any "gun expert" would not use that terminology when refering to a Glock's magazines.

MOSt don't have to.. if only 5% did, (or even if 0% did but the law allowed it) the criminals wouldn't look at a university campus as a slaughterhouse where they can just wantonly walk around and shoot people like sheep.

Bottom line, people hear college campus, and think a bunch of 19 year old kids going to class, and it would be senseless to arm 19 year olds.. but that's not the case, there are many veterans on campus, off duty cops.. adults LOTS of adult students and faculty, but NONE of them are allowed to carry a weapon on campus.. it's just a killing field if someone wants it to be. When I went to school in PA, I had a permit, and DID carry my gun on campus.

Just remeber, your kid could be on one of these campuses, if not today, tomorrow.

Thats true, but most people that go on very larger shooting sprees like this end up dead. I can asusme that these people are usually crazy and the threat of getting shot by somone on the murder spree would not deture them.

nope, I am getting my info from a contact at the dept of justice and using my own terminology cause I am in a hurry, figured folks would like accurate info, and not pick on me over my wording. But hey - if it makes you feel better, put me on ignore.

Remeber in the past, the local hot shooting gallery was the post office.. the one place EVERYONE knew guns were forbidden.. Any disgruntled employee knew they could walk in shoot the place up and walk back out. The law was on the criminals side there too.

Take it easy, I was just trying to figure out what your source was because so much mis-reporting goes on when it comes to guns in the News.

Your right, it might not deture them... But it could have prevented 32 dead.

32 dead or 5 dead... take your pick

It would only take one to return fire and disrupt or end the wholesale slaughter.
Exaclty, if nothing else the person returning fire would get their attention, and get their sights off of the unarmed victims waiting to die.

-Link is super slow to open, I guess from heavy traffic but I quoted the relevant part.

It sounds like this incident may make them rethink the gun ban at schools.
