A LOT easier when only the criminals can have them!forestal said:Guns don't kill people, but they sure make it a whole lot easier.
I liked this idea at first and then I found a problem. In all the turmoil how would you know who was the killer and who was not? If you had a gun, why wouldn't the police shoot you?itsbob said:MOSt don't have to.. if only 5% did, (or even if 0% did but the law allowed it) the criminals wouldn't look at a university campus as a slaughterhouse where they can just wantonly walk around and shoot people like sheep.
Bottom line, people hear college campus, and think a bunch of 19 year old kids going to class, and it would be senseless to arm 19 year olds.. but that's not the case, there are many veterans on campus, off duty cops.. adults LOTS of adult students and faculty, but NONE of them are allowed to carry a weapon on campus.. it's just a killing field if someone wants it to be. When I went to school in PA, I had a permit, and DID carry my gun on campus.
Just remeber, your kid could be on one of these campuses, if not today, tomorrow.
in an armed society, the killer would be the one laying on the ground with all the other people around him pointing guns and daring him to get up.BuddyLee said:I liked this idea at first and then I found a problem. Sounds simple but I could see a potential mix-up(s).bcp said:in an armed society, the killer would be the one laying on the ground with all the other people around him pointing guns and daring him to get up.
in the unarmed society, the killer is blending in with everyone else looking at the victims on the ground, trying to coax them into staying awake until help arrives.
really a simple matter.
Because the cops don't stand back and start shooting. When they arrive and take control of the situation, the LAW ABIDING CITIZENS will drop their weapon when ordered to do so by the authorities. They will be the ones not pointing their weapons at the officers.BuddyLee said:I liked this idea at first and then I found a problem. Alright, you've convinced me there. What about the law abiding citizens who see other law abiding citizens with weapons. Do they wait to get shot at or do they shoot first? These are the first folk who will probably come into contact with the killer first.aps45819 said:Because the cops don't stand back and start shooting.
