The sauce/gravy is my favorite part. We had so much left over from when we made Sauerbraten last month, I saved it. I put it on practically everything.
:yay:

In one of your earlier posts, was that one of the recipes you had from Haussners? If so, I'd be interested in getting it if you didn't mind.

Was your Internet down, or was someone hogging bandwidth downloading midget p0rn again? :eyebrow:
No, it was down. Phone too.

He was really depressed because he couldn't download any midget porn.

The Sauerbraten has been in the crock for a couple hours now and is filling the house with the aroma.

It's making me hungry.

Just sneakin' around....
I'm not big on sauerbraten, but I think I'm going to put a kielbasa with sauerkraut in the crock pot.

Finished an early Sunday Dinner. Others are doing the clean-up.

Sauerbraten turned out really good, not Great-Grandma good, but good.

Dinner was:

Sauerbraten and Gravy, Potatoes, Carrots, Parsnips, Steamed Asparagus, Rotkohl (bought) and buttered rolls with a bottle of Riesling.

😋 and not a single complaint.

... And I have leftovers to take for lunch tomorrow.

How do you cook your parsnips? I bought a basket of stuff at Chesapeake Bounty and some were orange carrots and what I thought were lighter colored carrots (they have variations of many veggies I have never seen before like pink beets that I didn't really like) I was going to grate a lighter color carrot for a salad and smelled it and it was a parsnip.
There are two and I was going to saute them with a couple carrots thinly sliced in butter. But I am curious what you (and others) do with parsnips?

Exactly that. Saute with a little butter, salt and pepper. :yay:

A little bit of "fresh" thyme and parsley, with the butter, salt and pepper, would be good too.

DW and I are trying to eat more fish. Costco had Barramundi (Asian Sea Bass) on sale so we thought we would try it. Not at all impressed. Anybody have a recipe that is good or is it just a crap fish?
